I think the 1.4 is priced nicely with minimum margins.

Only issue is the reliability though.

...i would say..all cars have their pros and cons...and 1.4 litre at this price wif 5+5 service & warranty is a good buy i reckon...I take this over VW anytime.

I am just being cautious that why would the dealer selling at a loss

Dealer will never do a money losing deal.

OMV (19k) + ARF (19k) + COE (around 35k) + 20k VES Surcharge = ~93k

I would say is minimum margin.

you missed out the exercise duty and GST = +5k

so est 98k.  selling at 98k with 3k cash back.....which is why i said it's at a loss

It seems that AG is selling at a loss.....

Or maybe they managed to reduce the VES surcharge by 10K just like they did for their Grandland/Crossland?

OK. let me talk about OPEL reliability here.

Drove the Astra 1.4 T for 24 months already, made numerous trips up north. No issues.

If I do not have faith in the brand, I would not have bought an Opel. Read all my posts in this thread since early 2017 and you will get the picture.

Making another trip to Selangor in a few weeks time.

Cheers.

I went for the test drive today. Price reduction is clearing existing stock and the astra have their CEVS being review by LTA from band c2 to B. Which will save the dealer $20k in tax. Not sure what does this mean to car owner. Does it means we are short change now?

All current astra owner here, are the steering a really big problem that they can’t fix?

Well it’s pretty good conti feel. 1.4t on paper 0-100 is a flat 9s. As for the interior trimming is quite B2B type. Thus I would say, paying that price is for 9s car? What can I still ask for.

Not sure those previous batch have electric seat anot but The current stock doesn’t have electric seat. Maybe they try to cut the cost from all these little feature.

How's the test drive?

If you are keen the interest is 2.18% till this week.

If indeed the 20k ves surcharge is remove, then this car should drop price more to be more competitive to the i30. So I say this is not really a good deal. If drop 10k cheaper then i30 then is a good deal

....so to say base on the calculation..AG have a margin of 17k profit is it?

If like that how to win i30. I30 parts is cheaper and easy service in the north. Given a choice, I'll confirm choose over i30. But I do think they can drop 10k. Earlier got ppl mention they only like register 60 cars for last 6-12 month? If continue like that how to hit target set by Opel themselves?

There is also Skoda Octavia to compete. Lol
