Wormee 5th Gear June 3, 2017 Share June 3, 2017 hi. foon has one for $680. However, those are not using HD cameras. for 300 hundred more, my cameras are HD. the system also turns on when I signal left/right or when the hazard light is on. foon has done many cars, so I feel at ease doing with them. Bro, Do you mind post a screen shot here of the HD 360 parking? Mine is the non HD one. Wanna compare the difference. Cheers.

Wormee 5th Gear June 6, 2017 Share June 6, 2017 Is it just me or do the pictures of the 360s look a bit distorted? Nope. It is not just you. It does look distorted. These are aftermarket 360 camera. The placement of the 4 cameras are not factory designed nor tuned. I searched some factory equipped videos for some Japan cars (e.g. The Daihatsu Canbus) is also not 100% flawless. Although they are calibrated after installation, there are bound to be flaws (i.e. not perfectly aligned for the 4 quadrants). I think they are good enough to add me in parking as well as driving through tight places. Cheers!

Is there really much difference between the HD and non HD? Planning to go for the cheaper option. Is the resolution clear during night time for non HD? Thanks. Planning to go for the cheaper option. Is the resolution clear during night time for non HD? Thanks. I would think since you are installing, go for the HD version. Technology keeps advancing. I'm feeling mine is outdated already lol. As installation is not easy, upgrading in the future takes time as well. I have attached a photo taken in the night. Too me it looks grainy. Mine's non-HD btw. Cheers! hmm...where are the cameras placed? The front camera is usually placed below the front emblem of the car. For the side will be under the wing mirrors (drilling is required). For the back, the usual placement where the default reverse camera sits. Cheers!

I suspect the calibration is not well done, and one of the cameras is spolit. Went back a few times to the shop to rectify, but the results are not satisfactory. Hence thinking of changing.. Eyke Supercharged August 31, 2017 Share August 31, 2017 (edited) with this system, still need the beeping reverse sensors? Edited August 31, 2017 by Eyke
Wormee 5th Gear September 1, 2017 Share September 1, 2017 with this system, still need the beeping reverse sensors?Depends on individual. Mine still has it. I do not recommend to rely on the 360 camera 100%. I'll use it more for parallel parking and maneuvering in tight corners. Normal reversing I treat it as a reverse cam and listen to the beeping as well. Cheers!
Carz73 1st Gear September 3, 2017 Share September 3, 2017 (edited) For those who had installed after-market 360 degree cam, appreciate if you could pls advise: 1) How does the system connects to after-market HU like Kenwood and Pioneer from the video splitter interface box that comes with the 360 degree cam? Via any generic RCA video input that the HU has?2) Is it via signal indicator and reverse gear that auto triggers the display to show the various cam views when other screen for example radio or gps is active What other auto trigger? What about manual trigger? After-market hardware button(s) and supported HU cam view hard and/or soft button? 3) Will previous screen continue to run in the background uninterrupted and does it auto resume once the trigger is not active? 4) Once it is in cam view, how to toggle through the various views? Or is it always showing split view, with 1 top down 360 view while the other showing either left, right, rear or front view depending on the gear and signal indicators position? 5) Through various youtube videos, it seems some 360 degree cam could be control via HU touch screen but am I right to say these are usually factory original 360 degree cam and HU with built-in integration already supported? Some HU supports dual rca video inputs like my Kenwood DDX917WS which has one for front dash/video cam and one for reverse cam. However, only Kenwood own's DRV-N520 Dash Cam and CMOS-320 Cam has built-in support to control the cam via the HU touch screen made possible with a separate special connector port for DRV-N520. Not sure about the CMOS-320 but the control unit that comes with it is no longer necessary to be installed when used with Kenwood supported HU without additional wire. Otherwise, 3rd party cam will only have video input with no touch screen controls. The other addon interface with touch screen control is via its RGB interface for 3rd party navigation box. Pioneer HU has it too. This would be the most logical and useful port for touch screen integration but information of devices which support such interface is few and far between. It would be nice to have such a multi-function box i.e. 360 degree dvr cam, gps, android box. 6) Seeing that most of the 7" and below HU only has a 800 x 400 display resolution, will more expensive 1080p 360 degree cams have any difference over the cheaper 720p ones? 7) Pls advise the model that you are using for further research. I have recently came across a Korean branded AVM made by Cammsys who also supplies the cam for Galaxy S8 and sold via Blacksys. http://www.pna360.com/page/page.php?pg_table=feature http://www.blacksys.co.kr/eng/product/product.php?id=44 I know it may be too much to ask to find one that support dvr too (both driving and parking mode) but I think some made-in China ones supposedly has such feature though probably not yet ready for actual prime time use. Hope to see more discussion on 360 AVM Systems. Edited September 3, 2017 by Carz73
Carz73 1st Gear September 4, 2017 Share September 4, 2017 (edited) Just found out Ace Motorsports Pte Ltd has Korean brand Cammsys AVM I mentioned in the above post... https://www.facebook.com/AceMotorsportsPteLtd/posts/1149128515197310 https://www.facebook.com/AceMotorsportsPteLtd/posts/905121416264689 https://www.facebook.com/AceMotorsportsPteLtd/posts/1035607919882704 https://www.facebook.com/AceMotorsportsPteLtd/posts/1065559613554201 and also REX-i H775 4 Channel In-Car Camera. Although not exactly AVM, it has DVR function something which I hope AVM has. https://www.facebook.com/AceMotorsportsPteLtd/posts/1200065360103625 http://autopia.com.sg/?product=rex-h775-wifi-128gb-4-channel (another dealer) Which leads my research into another Korean company imageNEXT OmniVue AVM but also without DRV function on its own but.... http://www.imagenext.co.kr/en/product#svm supposedly possible if integrated with their OmniDrive which has won CES 2017 Innovation Awards. Not sure if it has parking mode recording though. http://www.imagenext.co.kr/en/product#smart-pad http://www.prweb.com/releases/2016/11/prweb13841714.htm So far, from my research and from what some local AVM dealers said, only China made AVM has DVR but not in parking mode. It would be nice if AVM has besides quality DVR for both driving and parking mode, also Blind Spot Detection (BSD) / Moving Object Detection (MOD). Supposedly some models of Cammsys AVM has MOD. That's all I found out for now. In the meantime, I found out Cammsys AVN comes with Steering Wheel Mounted Remote Control. Although not a fan of 3rd party steering wheel control as not sure if it will impede hand grip, it does have its benefit of manually controlling the AVM views. Keen to hear from those who have installed any AVM what are your views on this compare to how your current AVM works in triggering the different AVM view modes.
