andrewyewkc 5th Gear February 6, 2018 Share February 6, 2018 190Nm pulling a 1.36ton is sufficient, in rainy days, wet road with good aquaplan tyres, it does its job well especially winding up slope, tail will not swing, unless tyres botak, still it get straighten up fast. Its sure footed at all time. And need to get good brakes, stock cmi. But mine is low CG, things can be different. Thanks for all the replies to my question. Could not praise all enough. I only test drove the turbo version which handled very well. My concern was whether the 2L NA could power the AWD. Seems sufficient. ↡ Advertisement
Tohto Hypersonic February 6, 2018 Share February 6, 2018 Subaru are permanent AWD and what you described that owners cant control when the car goes into 2WD is only true for some of the other car brands using selectable 4WD system. https://www.subaru.com.au/car-advice/awd-vs-4wd Yah. Forester AWD is different from those Xtrial, FXT etc....
Zze121 3rd Gear February 6, 2018 Share February 6, 2018 Thanks for all the replies to my question. Could not praise all enough. I only test drove the turbo version which handled very well. My concern was whether the 2L NA could power the AWD. Seems sufficient. Current Forester weighs 1525kg on 198Nm and 148bhp engine, realise the torque came in early as approaches 2000rpm it hits almost 180Nm. A XT looks like this, it pulls like a beast, like what some say, Subaru is about TC, driver loves it, passengers face will turn green.
Brass 6th Gear February 6, 2018 Share February 6, 2018 not really since power deficiency could be easily be overcome with higher displacement rather the subaru brand trademarks are turbo boxer and awd so buying a subaru without a turbo seems incomplete
MQX87511 5th Gear February 21, 2018 Share February 21, 2018 Have short-listed these 2 and would like some comments on both models. Forester for good handling with better safety rating Tucson for better interior space & updated looks/design Bro, Subaru spirit are TC, Symmetrical AWD, Boxer Engine and Offroad performance etc, if you are not interested on these, forget about Subaru, its high FC (AWD), expensive spare parts, crowd and long service queue (as Subaru car owners exploded recent, its service facility cannot afford)are not your cup of tea go for Tucson no hesitation
Wyfitms Twincharged February 22, 2018 Share February 22, 2018 Have you test driven both? Which one did you like sitting in and driving better? That's the one you should buy. If both also same to you then you are a very lucky man. Cos it means only one thing. You can buy the cheaper one. This is so true Last time I gong gong ppl say v6 very creamy and shiok I bought one and didn’t feel any diff Now I don’t care what ppl say this handling better or that one smoother I just choose the cheapest and test drive Happy with the drive then buy ↡ Advertisement
