Hi, I would like to share the exorbitant parking fees imposed at Ngee Ann city, and hope that car owners or bikers can be aware of their unreasonable parking principles applied.

On 19 nov 2019, I rode my motorbike (not cars) to park at Ngee Ann City.  My entry time was 4.27 pm.  MY exit was 7.37 pm.  So, technically, the duration of the parking there was 3 hr 10 mins.  Guess how much I was charged when I exit the premises?  $14.12!!!

The parking rates at Ngee Ann city is as follows:

$1.28   (from 2.01 pm to 5pm) - every 30 mins or part thereof

$1.82   (from 5.01 pm to 7pm)  -  ditto

$4.28 per entry charge  (from 7.01 pm to 12 midnight)

I did not exit the premises to re-enter after 7.01 pm.  I was still there.  But they charged me $4.28 per entry for parking after 7.37 pm!!!!  My vehicle was still there but they charged me for "per entry".  How logical is this??

Therefore, whoever wants to park at NAC, please take note of their exorbitant fee charged for over-parked after 7.01 pm.  They will apply the Per-entry rates on your vehicle even though you did not exit the premises.  Secondly, a note to all bikers - they apply car rates on your bike!!  So, be forewarned of daylight robbery if you park there!!

Hi,

I have just replaced a holden Rodeo Ra heater Blower fan assembly in a friends car and it seems that it is only working on speed 4. On Speed 1 2 and 3 nothing is happening. I tried back the old fan as well and it has the same issue.

Any leads on how to fix this? Could it be wiring? Could that come from the button?

Any help woulf be appreciated. Thanks

Hello I am newbie here..have been reading the posts here for long time but just decided to register an account. I need some advice on car accident.

My friend was involved in a very minor traffic accident with a comfort delgro taxi in car park (super slow motion with low impact). The taxi driver came down to check and was perfectly fine. After exchanging contacts and filed for insurance claim, the police suddenly informed him that the taxi driver got MC and filed police report. The accident was my friend's fault because his phone fell (he put his phone against D gear to listen to GPS), and he bent down to find the phone but forgot he is on D... so the car rolled from the parking lot and crashed into the moving taxi. My friend apologised and reported to insurer for taxi's damage (minor). He has been driving for more than 30 years with no accident history.

Your friend's car has car cam and video footage still intact?

If have, show it to police and the insurer. Else can try to make a police report and get the insurance company to survey the damage (car), then argued about the injury sustained by the taxi driver.

Just want to report a bug in Marketplace.

On Tyres and Rims page, after I filter by Rim Size (PCD = 5x112, Radius = 18"), I get 2 pages of search results. When I click page 2 or Next, the filtering is gone and I get 131 pages! Same thing happens when I sort the 2 pages of search results.

May I know how do send a PM to a moderator here?

It says "Reputation insufficient for the use of this function" when I wish to send a PM to a moderator.

Hi, may i know the extra costs involved in purchasing a car in Malaysia? Am from singapore and Bought a property in Malacca recently.  Am thinking of buying a car but i do not understand the terms. It seems a new car found on a car forum costs for e.g. 1.1million Rm but that same car, being sold 2nd hand on another website costs 2.5million. So am a little bit confused about the extras here. Uploading a picture as an example and yes i am interested in this type of cars so i will really appreciate if someone can help. Also number plates. I found a number i liked and made a deal with the seller. How do i go about registering on my new car. Can i just buy the plate and put it under my name first (without a car)? Is there like a 1 year grace period for me to put on a vehicle? Can anyone advise me or link me up on some site please? Thank you very much. And happy new year to everyone.

Hello everyone,

I'm considering getting my first car. Previously only driven other ppl's car.

However, I'm trying to decide whether to get a new car or a used car. So it would be between

A new Kia Stonic which is maybe 80-90k.

A used Mercedes A Class which is about 90-100k. About 3 years old with dep at 10-11k.

So the new car would have less possibility of problems (I hope).

But for about the same price (except maybe if suay, need to do some repairs in the near future), I could get a not so old conti car which is probably more comfy to drive and ride in.

I know the 2 car choices are very different. My train of tot is, if I'm getting a new car, I want to get something different and interesting.

If it was a used one, I want to get something comfy and good to drive as my previous exp in my friend's merc was good. But a new model is out of my budget. Trying to keep it below the 100k mark.

So I was hoping to get some opinions on this.

New car? Or a or a better car but used?

Thanks!

Some points to consider:

New car - under warranty, anything just go back to distro (if you bought from them). If any recalls, you are also covered.

Used Conti car - conti parts replacement costs more. Have to factor this into the decision making. Are you willing/prepared to pay more for their parts?

Are you going to drive family etc?
This is a major point for me so I looked more at the safety features of the cars in consideration.

Drive family around yes. But mainly just my parents. Car is mainly for myself.

Parts replacement if not major overhaul, I guess still ok. Usually what's the premium like over a Japanese car?

I was hoping a used conti (particularly Mercedes) would be more reliable, comfortable and maybe safer.

Have never owned a conti so can't comment on the cost of parts.
You can search the forums for past posts about this topic.

Hi, I m driving a Volkswagen Jetta 1.4TSI.
recently encountered engine oil leak while I noticed alarm in the dashboard.
since it was no oil could be found in the dip stick I try to search for a nearby workshop.
the Mechanic was suggesting me to change timing gaskets and surplus of many more as follows,

1-engine oil hc7 n oil filter original $128
2-air filter $40
3-spark plug original 1set $140
4-socket coil $120
5-atf oil 7speed  $150
6-timing cover gasket, crank shaft oil seal, cam cover oring 2pcs,plug seal oring ,4pcs, gum gasket $880
7-crank pulley shaft n oring $110
8-fan belt $78
Labour $280
Before gst
If got anything extra part will let you know
-Extra part
1-water pump $180
2-vaccum hose $95
3-cooland $120
Total amount -$2321+7%gst =$2483.47

since I never did similar repair work I am not able to justify whether the charges are reasonable or higher. However I felt that for a leak why should I change the fan belts, hoses and water pumps.

can anyone advise?

thanks
