I guess is the combination, coupled with bad customer service. Starhub is famous for bad customer service where especially when customer request to speak to manager and the CSO say manager busy and request for callback instead. Then customer wait for the callback but no one give a callback. Then there are also a lot of lapses on the fiber Broadband set up. Where appointment is made for the technician to come to setup the fiber broadband and when the day come, no one come and customer called and CSO say no such record and or staff forget to I set the date. All these are darn terrible. So now a spring cleanup is sort of payback for the past. Their past action pissed off many customers, so when more customer are gone, naturally cost pressure come. Maybe the new top leader that come in also previously deal with starhub CSO with this shit and now he is sort of the biggest and know where the problem lies and do a big organization shuffle. So well..

Imo, sloppy or bad service doesn't matter a lot to the organisation.

It is not enough to cause head count cuts, although customers like to think so.

You can have the best service in the world, but when the bottomline hits, you still have to cut staffs.

I have been with StarHub since its inception.  Than when i got married i took the whole package internet, telephone, mobile and cable for my house. For 17 yrs i was faithful to them but over the last few years they really slack in terms of a customer after sales service. As such, i switched to Circles(first time see 4g on my phone) and cut my cable( Netflix and other apps fill the void ) Now only left to cut the internet. They really need to keep up to the times.

From wikipedia..... Garden leave describes the practice whereby an employee leaving a job – having resigned or otherwise had their employment terminated – is instructed to stay away from work during the notice period, while still remaining on the payroll.

With Netflix prices so accessible......I can watch on my TV, laptop, mobile phone, tablets......even going overseas hotels, I can just enter my Netflix account into the hotel room TV to watch my shows/movies and pick up where I left off..... why would anyone need cable TV anymore.

I got the premium subscription for the HDR content and also to share around the account within the family members.

My netflix didnt work in Bali a couple years ago. Strange. But these days there are so many free apps to watch movies or series these days.

Price wise competitive.  No complains but no after sales love so try new one la if there is something comparable.

Garden leave normally apply to C-level and very senior position like Senior Directors / VP la ... not mediocre managers and executives

the reason is you want the person to go (not coming into office) ... transition .... digging and avoid confrontation and avoid "manipulation"

at the same time the person still on payroll ... one call must come back office to answer question

and he/she cannot join another company especially for garden leave 3-6 months !

So means dont have to do anything but yet get paid? Wow
