Yes. You read it correctly. This is a photo I snap on the street around Manhattan area. Most of the indoor carpark are around this price. Parking in the street will be slightly cheaper. I am not driving though.

I remember also very high cost to park in New Zealand in Christchurch centre or Auckland centre... but not as exorbitant as this...

Meter maid very on the ball 1 The last time I was there... 2004, we just decided to park outskirts and paid a flat fee for I can't remember for the day or for 4 hours... yeah... the parking warden is really hiong... we parked along the street in a parking space, a bit disoriented and lost having just arrived from the countryside, and so wanted to pause a while and look at the map... we got a rap on the window and she said you got to pay, no free parking... we said we just wanted to look at the paper map and find out where we were... nothing doing, move or she issue ticket... wah piang... not our country lor... so tiam tiam move lor... Police even more hiong... then we were upgraded to a Ford Falcon cos there were no more Mazda 6 or Toyota Camry left... at one little roundabout, my dad sped up a bit on exiting to about 60kmh... immediately all the traffic police cars waiting with flashing lights turned on their sirens and flagged us down... we were really confused and also a bit intimidated... my dad got out, I got out, and the police officer said, you were speeding... my dad started to explain and the officer cut us off and said to keep our hands in front and then said we were driving a really powerful car... and that was that... just shut up and took the NZ$150 fine... for driving out of a roundabout at 60 kmh... oh well... by the way... the speed limit was 50 kmh in that hour... we were actually wondering why so many police cars with lights flashing... and we found out the painful way... sigh...
