I was told there was a nail in one of my tyre during servicing and the SA called me that policies in PML don't allow them to "fix" it but can suggest to customer to replace just that one with a new tyre at $400/pc. :nosebleed:

But he was kind enough to mention that can always fix it "outside" ... like for 10 bananas.... but this did not come from him.

I will be there in the afternoon to confirm this. Thanks for sharing.

End of the day, it's always a eat pig pay dog trading.

Basically ok, the SA told me it was "leaking" air slowly which was why the tyre monitor never really pick it up. So i just swung over to a Shell station nearby to get it patch up. Tyres are basically quite new anyway ... < 8 months and < 15k. Thanks!

The tyre pressure sensor to be frank is next to useless, it only goes off after the tyre goes to almost 0 pressure and even that times time to detect. Sometimes by then one would have driven a fair bit and damages the sidewalls.

Suggest you pick up a proper TPMS, its abit troublesome but least it tells you the minute trouble comes up.

I've patched my run flats probably 8 times now, having experienced what you gone thru (i.e 400 bucks charge) I keep a close watch on the pressure just in case.

I find it pretty good.... saved me twice, warning came and asked to drive slowly...checked and it showed which tyre was losing pressure....swing by the tyre shop and they found a nail...patched and then go.

Without that, wouldn't hv checked the tyres....

Thanks for mentioning ... Touch wood, so far so good. But always remember to do a reset on the TPMS every time you pump air into the tyre else the manual indicated that it will not work properly. I also realized that the patched tyres are "loosing" slightly more air than the rest ... will keep monitoring as that was the first time i re-pumped the air after the patch ...

Yeah I find this feature very useful too.

I found Philips TPMS in TaoBao for RMB 860.

Main unit is solar power.

Did anyone go for the National Day promotion for the 2AT over the weekend?

SE offered $136+k and said could negotiate more. Any other freebies besides standard servicing, warranty and solar film?

Always reset after topping up pressure but the system just not sensitive enough, even my mini previously was like this. I am not sure how you got them patched but with RFT I always recommend the internal path method not the plug. fyi some rft owners did the plug method will usually notice a slow air leak.

Internal patching is also good, lets you check out the sidewall damage if any

I got the steelmate external Tpms, anyway might change tyres soon probably place an internal sensor.

Bloody hell ... the TPMS warning just came up this morning ... will need to go to the pump later ... Didn't indicate which was the one having issues, just lighted with warning that pressure is low on all fours. I just pump it up like 2 weeks ago.

I am not aware that RFT needs some other method of patching ... seems like you are right!

Is it worth to swap the RFT with performance tyres?

Cheers!

Put air in it soon as you can before drive, usually when tpms in the car goes off the tyre is close to no pressure Liao, more you drive with Low or zero pressure increases the chance of tyre change cause of sidewall rip

Normally it will indicate which tyre is having the problem by showing a different color on the wheels graphic. If I am not mistaken the color is red for problem and green for normal...

Thanks all for the advices. Damn suay.. The same tyre is a nail attractor... Got another nail in.

You are right, i parked for awhile and decided to go to a petrol kiosk to pump air.. 1/2 way through.. The TPMS highlighted the single tyre having pressure issues. Decided to swing by a tyre shop and the guy immediately saw the culprit..

(edited)

Called PML on BSI+. Cost about $2.4k for five years. He mentioned everything has to be stock(including tyres) to avoid voiding of warranty and there is no refund. No modification to the car as well.

Change tyres will have to be done at PML service Centres.

That's what he said.
