I guess many new potential 2GT owners may have been interested in the new Touran.

Went to PML today to view after a trip to VW to see the new Touran.

Was quite surprised to see the price went up to $171K as it was around $140+ around 3 months ago. The effect of CEO!

Touran was $150K for the high-end model, and $136.8K for the basic model. The 3rd rows for both really cannot make it compared to my current stream, which made me appreciate my stream even more. The sitting position is really built for children. Adults would have been pretty uncomfortable in long drive.

Never get the new vw touran as the 7 spd gb dry still not fixed. Do not listen to the se! U will regret it! BMW 216d or merc b class still very much better. 216d uses Toyota aisin 6 spd gb like mini. Edited by Munhua

Bro, go to settings and sound and others, from there should be able to reduce the volume....just did it on mine...

Thanks Spidey, will try later :)

Any recommended shops that can fix camera and solar films?

Was told by SE that warranty will be void if i connect camera power source directly to fuse box, however, if i use the convention method to plug into cig charge is ok..

any bros have any workaround?

Anyone got experience on bmw service centre? Are they good? And is their maintenance and serving cost exceptionally higher compared to other high end brands?

Have no experience with BMW service center yet but was told that the during the warranty period, the car will need to be serviced by them even for wear and tear, else warranty will be void.

So in order to maintain your 3 years warranty, u need to go back to them for all maintenance and parts replacement work.

I think it is standard for other car brands as well.

For this reason, I am using Advanced Car Eye even though there are much better ones around.

U don't have to use Advanced Car Eye if you don't want to.

The power source for camera could be a power bank which is charged via ciggy port

Yes, you are absolutely right.. But the Cellink battery pack would cost a couple of hundred bucks or more..

I didn't have much time to research on this so Advanced Car Eye was an easy choice

That mean you don't have camera in your previous car?

Overall, it is slightly cheaper than Advanced Car Eye right?

You start to think about getting camera because this car is more expensive [smash]

Not forgetting Blackvue is better quality and can do wifi transfer of video.

It all depends on preference and priority I guess.

When it comes to camera, there is no such thing as preference and priortity.  It could save up from being wrong.

I only 1 the most reliable top quality camera.

I owned Stream last time and drove current GT for two months. My GT bought price at $158k .

3rd rows space GT is better then Stream, due to GT is 10cm wider;

Stream is good car, but got distance with GT for interior quality, FC, and Technology.

i thk hes talking sitting position, not width. tall person may get leg cramps if sit behind  due to seat almost on d floor.

but anyway stream n 2GT are mid size MPVs, not full size so 3rd row being cramped is expected.

As a car kay por. Hehe. And since my 2gt collecting only in july. I went down to volkswagen showroom this afternoon to see see the touran.

I just see the high specs one. At 150k.

Ermm.

They dun have electric seats.

Interior only black.

They dun have electric tailgate.

But got sun roof.

Rear 2 seats r definately more cramped than our 2gt.

Its 1.4 7speed dsg..only 3yrs warranty. not convincing. 0 to 100km is below 10s. Faster.

Doesnt feel too premium vs gt.

At 150k vs 2gt 171k with at least 5k overtrade. We look at a 15k diff....

I am pretty sure 2gt will be a much better choice.

Touran more cramp than 2GT? I'm 1.8m and felt that 2GT is more cramp and more difficult to get in. Haha

Probably its also my slight bias reporting. Haha......

Oh ya. The 2nd row seats of the touran are all adjustable..... so thats a plus for that.

I do feel both our 2gt and touran is good for 6 pax for long distance definately not for full 7. Hehe.

Also for touran is 1.4 petrol. So road tax saves prob ard 600per yr.

If u drive like 36000km a yr. 2gt is the man.

Hehe.

Assume 0.70dollars per ltr savings.

Assume both fc same. Though paper specs 2gt better.

Assume drive 36000km and say 15km per ltr..

So 2400ltrs per yr. Almosy 1.7k savings in fuel. Minus off 600 bucks for the extra road tax. Save 1.1k a yr.

Of coz above just assumption. Factors like servicing maintenance costs should be diff for each ride.

But like i said. 2gt just feels a lot more premium. For that extra 15 to 20k. Go for 2gt

Well, I am not debating which camera is better, i think there is a clear winner.

I've chosen ACE for the reasons that are important to me.

On a separate note, perhaps all 2GT owners here can form a FB group to share our experiences. I am not really into after market stuff, but I have seen such conversations taking place on some FB, e.g. Harrier group
