Would you guys prefer XC60 which has a longer body? I find that XC40 a bit shorter...

Ya, very true, XC60 is a much bigger car in all dimensions. However, XC40 external look and shape is so much better than XC60. XC40 looks futuristic and in a certain way look as good as RR Evoque if not even better. IMHO. It is hard decision between the two.

Evoque is in a different level. Test drive both and feel the differences.

If the price difference was lesser, it might be a closer call.

The XC40 is definitely shorter and narrower.

The seats in the XC60, especially in the rear, feels much more spacious and cushy.

I feel like I'm sitting quite a bit lower in the rear of the XC40 as compared to the XC60.

No doubt the XC60 feels like the more luxurious and spacious option, but the XC40 is still adequate and actually has its own appeal in the relative compactness.

These are just my personal opinions, based on the very limited time I spent testing them both.

Neutral Newbie

Hi Guys,  will be collecting my XC40 next week - excited!   :a-panic:

Can add me to the whatsapp group?  Have some question to ask about the sound system.

So sad our local variant don't have the Harman/Kardon installed.    Now if I find after-market installer, not sure if the woofer can fit inside the front "air woofer" cavity, and would it sound nice?

[confused]

Hi Mockngbrd,

Apparently now all the current stock with Wearnes don't have. And to indent it is $9900, and takes 6-7months.

Over the weekend, i dropped by the show room to take a look at the XC 40 T5. Pretty like this model and the spec.

But one thing i find hard to accept is that the price of a T5 XC40 vs T5 S90 is pretty close.

Pardon me for the perception. personally i feel that XC40 is more of a 'entry level SUV' vs a 'top of the range sedan' S90.

And i have a feeling that the XC40 is 'too expensive' while the S90 is abit 'affordable'.

Before the price and height, my family also feel that S90 is more lux  compared to XC40.

Anyone have this feeling too?

And now the biggest question is how should i justify to my family, XC40 is a better buy huh??

New s60 model, a smaller replica, should be around 150k

S90 has promotion price, slightly more than 180k can get the t5 lol

To begin with, one is SUV one is sedan. 2 totally different class. With many differences. Ride height for example. Handling for example.

You are also comparing the top trim (RDesign) of the XC40 vs lower trim (momentum) of the S90. The level of equipment differs as well. In short, cannot compare them like that lah.

Money/cost aside, it’s more about what you want and what you need out of the vehicle to fit your lifestyle. That should be the justifications for choosing between them.
