Hi good day!

It took me about 10km (15 mins) of driving before the TPMS registered the new pressures.

Objectively, probably about 3km and 5 mins were spent navigating onto the expressway before I was able to maintain speeds above 35km/h as required by the Owner's Manual.

Thanks for sharing!

Is XC60 or XC40 better? I like the bigger size and design of the latest XC60, but the price is quite ex

Good morning,

Dun mind if I share what we went through when deciding between the XC40 and the XC60.

The XC60 is the bigger car, can feel it in the seats, the boot space, the looks, the way it handles etc etc.... We were only considering T5 AWD for either models. T4 on the XC40 was not as powerful and the T6 on the XC60 was above our budget. That same engine in 2 different car bodies felt very different to drive. While it is still sufficient in the 60, it just made the 40 a hoot to drive.

The 60 felt plush and cushy to me while the 40 felt fleet-footed and spirited. In terms of driving feel, each has its own appeal.

I felt that the seats in the 60 were more comfortable and cosseting, but the seats in the 40 were good as well. Both are good but in their own unique ways.

The dashboards on both looked about the same to me, as were the qualities of the materials used. That's just my own opinion of course.

The boot space question was interesting to me. I use our baby stroller as a baseline because it's pretty big in terms of size. It could fit in the 40 just nice, can also fit in the 60 with some space to spare. It's bigger of cos, but I dun think it's bigger by a substantial amount perhaps?

The way they both drive so differently was the key point for us. The 40 just felt more fun and responsive, it made us look forward to driving it. That's probably what tilted the decision in its favor.

If this was our only car, I might have gone for the XC60, to maximise cabin space and boot space. The price difference of about just under 30k was kinda hefty to be honest, and the fact that the XC60 T6 was even more powerful and fun but waayyy out of budget made us even more hesitant to get the XC60 knowing that we'll most likely always be hankering for the T6 even after buying the T5.

End of the day, we wanted our 2nd car to be safe, compact, fun and easy to handle on a daily basis. I guess we ticked most of the boxes with the XC40.

These are just my personal opinions, please feel free to correct me or add on.

Have a nice day!

Thanks for sharing....as currently driving a Subaru XV 2.0L, the Volvo XC40 doesn't seem an upgrade in terms of space capacity, especially if have additional kid and maid in the future. I think will go down and try in person first.

Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to hear about your plight.

So are you going to walk away from the deal and get the refund of the deposit?

I had been servicing my Volvo with them for 7 years and I feel that your service level is getting worse and the new XC40 is too expensive, I wanted to get this ride but their pricing is a big no no for me.

Good afternoon all,

Pardon my ignorance, but I just realised that the XC40 is Made In Belgium while the XC60 is Made in China? Not entirely sure if that's true, but does that make a tangible difference?

Just based on a quick hands-on in the showroom and the usual short test drive around Leng Kee area, I could not tell/feel any difference in between these 2 models.

If not wrong, the Volvo flagship sedan S90 is also made in China. There are other conti cars which are not made in their native country, like Audi Q5 is made in Mexico and Porsche Cayenne is made in Slovakia instead of their country Germany.

Interesting that the OMV for the Made in China is so much higher than the Made in Belgium.

Wow thanks for the info!

I personally have nothing against the country of manufacture as long as the QC is good and the product speaks for itself.

However, alot of peers have shared their sentiments with me that they view certain countries of manufacture as "lower grade" than others. Of course, they have their own mix of stories which are pretty much based on hearsay as well as so-called personal experiences.

And there are also SEs who keep reiterating that their cars are Still made in Japan/Germany etc etc....

Certain Merc and BMW models made in South Africa

Toyota made in Thailand

I don’t see any issue

A lot of countries do CKD models in their own country anyway

Hi Any Bro out there owns the current model of XC40? Don’t mind sharing the reliability, I heard the AD service sucks but just want to have objective feedback.

Hi Bro

Been just driving my XC40 for about 1 MTH now so can't say much about its reliability. From the chat group where some owners got it 1 yr back, I don't hear of any major issues.

It's an awesome car in my book
