Generally, common problems with VAG engines is that it drinks engine oil. Other than that, I don't see much complaints on it unlike the DQ200. ↡ Advertisement

Like you said social ladder, so when people buy car they would buy the brand first than the car features etc. Example when people see me drive Audi A1, even the car is quite basic and yet it is still an Audi. Actually, have u guys driven a basic A180 or BMW 118i? I have, and they both drive much and look better than many Jap cars in the low 100K+ bracket. For me, I place the drive of the car over space higher than an additional 2 or 3 inches of knee room at the back seat. And no... I don't own either the A180, 118i nor Q2. No plans to get any of those either. Edited November 9, 2020 by Rickster

If you tell your peers that you drive a Seat or Skoda, it's just like another Honda or NIssan. If you tell them that you drive an Audi, it will raise your snob appeal and people will think highly of you that you have made in in life and am doing very well. Bro, not fair to say buying of entry conti is about face value to many buyers out there. It's like trying to say Americans are all racists just because of trump. Some people see the brand of the car you drive and not how tok gong the car features, safety and technology have inside your car. For people who judge u based on what brand of car u drive are like fools and shallow people. Why bother to please them and care so much about what they think?

Even others people might not judge what they are driving?! So maybe the owner themselves also consider fool and shallow? Lol. But i think people who buy entry level conti may feel and think that the car quality is better than a jap/korean high range car? But i think people who buy entry level conti may feel and think that the car quality is better than a jap/korean high range car? I bought an F20 1 series 🙂 I bought it because of the drive (Torque, low slung sitting position, handling, the super smooth and quick gear changing ZF8HP gearbox, the fuel efficiency). I bought it with open eyes, knowing that the maintenance would be higher, in the unlikely scenario I decide keep it beyond the 5 year warranty. Jap cars that can give me the drive/better than the F20 actually costs more. I've also driven the new A180, 118i and I must say, they're really good to drive and the interior styling is very nice compared to cars in their similar price points. $130K-ish. So those bros here that keep slamming people who owns entry level premium brands as brand whore, they really have issues and need help 🤣 Edited November 9, 2020 by Rickster
Blync Clutched November 25, 2020 Share November 25, 2020 I think a lot of people tend to just look at the specs of the engine, horsepower vs the price. I used to think like that until I test drove a conti car and understood that it offers things beyond just engine specs i.e. refinement, tech, comfort, noise insulation. And you may be surprised they deals they give can be really attractive (gotta go down and speak to the advisor rather than look at sgcarmart pricing), do your sums vs the car cost sheet from onemotoring and you will find that certain conti models are charging the same premium as a jap or korean make.
Watwheels Supersonic November 25, 2020 Share November 25, 2020 If you like to know why VAG engines like to consume so much engine oil it's best to see why. It's down to the pistons and piston ring that can wreck so much damage to the engine. So if you are driving one now it's good to top up the engine oil and never ignore it or say bye bye to the engine.

Just as there's many who are willing to pay $180K for a 1.5L Mercedes C160., or $240K for the 1.5L Mercedes E180 (Yes, you didn't see wrongly - a 1500cc Mercedes E Class). is like most sales person, the title will be like sales manager, or account manager or etc. while actual the ranking in company hierarchy can be lowest.. 😬 Oops.. hence it is important to have "outer beauty" first instead of "inner beauty". all car buyers having this in first place anyhow.

Outer beauty is important in this society, many people like to judge and form an impression on that person based on their outer beauty, this is the reality. 😂
Vinceng Turbocharged November 25, 2020 Share November 25, 2020 (edited) WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE sums it up best - All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages. At first the infant, Mewling and puking in the nurse’s arms; And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel And shining morning face, creeping like snail Unwillingly to school. And then the lover, Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad Made to his mistress’ eyebrow. Then a soldier, Full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard, Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel, Seeking the bubble reputation Even in the cannon’s mouth. And then the justice, In fair round belly with good capon lin’d, With eyes severe and beard of formal cut, Full of wise saws and modern instances; And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts Into the lean and slipper’d pantaloon, With spectacles on nose and pouch on side; His youthful hose, well sav’d, a world too wide For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice, Turning again toward childish treble, pipes And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all, That ends this strange eventful history, Is second childishness and mere oblivion; Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.
