Why choose present time to deport these Myanmars leh? Anyone can shed some light?

Malaysia urged to explain deportation of Myanmar detainees despite court order

The Kuala Lumpur High Court on Tuesday had granted a stay on the deportation of 1,200 Myanmar citizens held in immigration detention centres, pending an application by Amnesty International and Asylum Access to suspend the plan amid fears over their safety. But hours after the ruling, Malaysia's top immigration official said authorities had repatriated 1,086 Myanmar citizens on three Myanmar navy ships.

Malaysia is home to more than 154,000 asylum-seekers from Myanmar, where the military seized power this month.

Myanmar's civil servant strikes start to bite

Public hospitals are deserted. Government offices left dark. And trains do not leave the stations.

..it is the civil servants' swelling ranks within the resistance that has the junta particularly rattled.

Without them, it is unable to collect taxes, send out electricity bills, test the population for COVID-19 or simply keep the country running. One crowdsourced survey found members of all 24 government ministries are now involved, while the UN special rapporteur on Myanmar has estimated three-quarters of the civil servants are on strike.

the question is... with supposedly 80% of the votes going against the military govt.

what makes the soldiers fire on their own people? They are also conscripts too.

i mean i would never... i dont care what some politician say about calling out the army if they ever lose an election.

M'sia is broke. Where got money to house them, feed them and jab them with vaccines? Last time Myanmar is under millitary rule it lasted for 3-4 decades. Must deport them now or never.

UN Security Council really CMI. Still cannot agree on statement to condemn coup. Don't talk about actions.

U.N. Security Council wrestles with threat of action over Myanmar coup

The U.N. Security Council failed to agree on Tuesday on a statement that would have condemned the coup in Myanmar, called for restraint by the military and threatened to consider “further measures,” though diplomats said talks would likely continue. During an initial bid to finalize the text, China, Russia, India and Vietnam all suggested amendments late on Tuesday to a British draft, diplomats said, including removal of the reference to a coup and the threat to consider further action.

More snake talk la. You think they are really against coups and pro democracy? Or just against Myanmar's army govt because they are weak and give the world less benefits?

If really against coup, why never speak out against Thailand govt? Ask SG govt to shout and tell them to release power la.

Because the Thais bother to swap their army uniforms for civilian clothes, and have run thru one round of election claiming victory, which none of the international observers raise big hoo-ha on the process. However, we can see from the news that politically Thailand is not stable.
