I  read some new the payout for bruce was very high, did he just sign a contract?

For the Saudis, I don’t think is about “washing of money” ie money laundering. It’s more about the cleaning up of their image by investing in sporting ventures where people (supporters) invest a lot of emotions and want to cheer teams owned by responsible owners.

The above was taken from today’s ST sports section and if true, it’s a real smart move by the Saudis n especially in acquiring a team like Newcastle who has a solid fan base, deprived of silverware for years, owned by a disliked owner and just waiting for a Messiah to save them. The Toon Army will be lapping up everything the new owners say n do as nothing can be worse than what Ashley has done or rather not done for them. I don’t blame the Toon fans n likewise i would be kowtowing to the Arabs if I were them. Bro @Thaiyotakamli already has a picture of Crown Prince Salman hung at his bedroom wall🤣

Yah newcastle used to be big in term of fan base, revenue and also pretty good history. During 90s to early 2000s, newcastle enjoyed good support except when ashley took over and things began to decline. Alot fan switched and some hardcore fans remain. in singapore there are roughly 1.7k. This number is better than everton aston villa and west ham. I have one friend whos die hard sunderland fans and switched to liverpool  last year lol. Many cant withstand their team playing poorly yet newcastle relegated twice

 

Agree the saudis maybe also want to build better image by buying newcastle and following the path of abu dhabi in man city and qatar in psg.

Newcastle was never small. They bigger then chelsea and man c before the big boss take over.

I watching chelsea since ken bates that time. 

So i can really feel the joy of Newcastle fans when a big boss comes along😄
