They will tell you, you cannot get onto the train or bus on the first one, just wait and get onto the 2nd or 3rd one lo. It is unavoidable during the peak hours. So dont complain. Lol. Same like when complain the traffic light timing is too short for a certain junction, LTA will reply and tell you no problem with the timing, cause you need to spend at least 2-3 green wave to clear the junction during peak hours, dont expect to clear on the 1st green wave.

If long waiting time is due to covid, then no choice la cayse no one wants that to happen.

But even during pre covid, this problem already existed liao. So i really dont know what is the root cause?

for buses, usually a challenge during the morning and evening peak hours. its the same situation for a long long time. 

last time SBS had some buses that would start picking up passengers mid route so that more passengers have the opportunity to board the bus. not sure if this arrangement is still on.

Now they called it short trip service and supplementary service. Short trip service runs during peak hours and supplementary duplicates the same route as the main bus service but runs on a shorter route. But i still find the main bus service still overcrowded during the peak hours la even with these short trip service and supplementary service for certain bus service.

Then for bus service without these short trip service and supplementary service, confirmed jam packed like hell.

I always think in order to solve overcrowding on buses during peak hours, only two things can do. Shorter bus frequency and deploy only double decks. You can see that those bus service with short bus intervals, the bus is really not so crowded.

There is a customer service officer on board.  Usually right at the front.

If still need a customer service officer to be on every train, even though the train is self autonomous, then what the point of having a driverless train? 😂

Because Singaporean kpkb whenever train break down.

CSO will take over the train if it breakdown.

That's why NEL/DTL recovery is usually faster than Circle Line.

It is difficult for bus companies to run short trips. It is not cost effective for them. Long ago it is already like that, the bus service circle several neighbourhoods and then reach city, the journey takes 2 hours. LoL. Whether it is private or gahment run it is more or less the same. Running an operation is all about cost. Anyway for public transport the fare is still considered low compared to private transportation. Cant expect much.

Cycling on the other hand can break the law and get away with it. Can also act gangster and challenge drivers. What's not to like?

For public transport, there is a cap of $120/month.

Not everyone can be comfortable with cycling to work.  It requires route planning as well as a shower facility.

I did ask around, ppl told me they dont want to spend $120/month for taking public transport, actually they dont even spend near to that amount hence they are unwilling to over-pay or over-spend to get the adult fare card. It doesnt make sense to them.

Nothing is perfect or no mode of transport is perfect, taking bus doesnt guarantee you dont end up sweating cos you still have to do some walking to reach your destination. That's why many still prefer WFH if they can of course. There will be those who cannot WFH.

Usually bus service would circle several neighbourhoods before reach city, to maximise the bus mah. Difficult to find normal route bus no need to circle several neighbourhoods befoe reaching city or MRT. Thats why i hate taking bus, due to they circle too many places and it makes me feek 'sick' on the bus.

train software and sensors are not 100% one lah.

once on DTL i saw a staff use allen key from the full pack to open the control panel and then manual guide the train into each station. they have walkie talkie for comms contact with HQ.
