@Jamesc I agree. Over the two legs, PSG has shown to be a very good footballing team. We tried our best in the return leg but too bad, we conceded a soft goal and cannot score at home. I already had this feeling that if the game goes on to penalties, we are likely to miss out. When Darwin Nunez walk up to the penalty spot, I knew that is the end of our Champions League journey this season.

Disappointing but also relieved in a way. We need to reduce injuries for the last bit of league.

Nothing to say about Nunez. He needs to go next season.

Suddenly this weekend game seem to be of significant to our season.

We might lose this weekend.

No RB for this Sunday. Quansah has to slot in.

Pool's recent momentum and trajectory went backwards whereas PSG's form is trending upwards. The result was that the better team at this stage of the season won. There can be no complains cos Pool did not deserve to go through.

This is the issue of having a easier ride in its domestic league after having done the heavier lifting in the beginning part of the season.  Pool's players now look tired and leggy and sunday's showing at home against Southamption was not a flute. Pool is regressing and Slot need to inject intensity again ahead of the league cup final on Sunday.

Slot having the same first team work well in first 2/3 of the season. For EPL, it works, we figure out a gap big enuf in the first half of season and can have cushion for last third of the season.

For cup games, incl UCL, The real stuff starts in March. We were found wanting.

Still, if we win the EPL this season, i consider it a resounding success

Start of the season our target were top 4.

Anyone believe we can win the champion league this season raise their hand.

Is already over achieved with a Premier league (hope at this stage we don't throw it away).

Premier league= open top bus= happy ending for Slot first season.

Considering Slot's first season, I will be happy with just the EPL title. Anything more, it will be a bonus.

Yes, UCL exit is disappointing because Pool was top of the UCL table for almost the entire duration of the qualifying matches. But it's ok, we learn and we will go again next season.

Can’t help but feel a bit gutted to crash out of the CL. Especially when we finished top during the league phase.

PSG, without the troublesome stars, are actually now a more balanced and cohesive unit. Plus with the state of the French league, they are hardly tested week in/week out.

As for us, we have a cup final this weekend and thereafter another 9 games. And with the CL exit, we can fully set our sights on a roaring finish.

YNWA…..

Sour grape time. It's better to get kick out now then later.

Although less money earned for the club as well.

Watched the entire game...visitors deserved the eventual victory...

Both teams had their chances...psg took their first at the 12th minute ...salah had 2 within 2 minutes in the 4th minute of play...many more from both sides...psg keeper was liked ali in the first leg...flew here and there...hands all over the place...psg defenders were often there to block barrage of shots...

A very disciplined psg...even when they pushed 4-5 up in fast attack...very quickly there were 10 blue shirts in defence whenever pool got the ball back...

Pool lost in the middle...the attacks from both sides often initiated with just two men...when usually there were 3-4 to help connect passes before a shot or pass into the box...many jaded players...i hope instead of the regulars, more subs to start this Sunday...

Can't really fault nonet on his penalty miss...it's decently taken...dembele made the same shot but was more precised...jones low kick was not close to the pole and not powerful enuf to beat diving psg keeper at full stretch...

Kudo to psg...didn't get intimidated by the roaring anfield...absorb pressure in its stride...played like a champion...hope they get to beat RM along the way to the top 😁

Psg gk already a well known in world football when come to penalty. Goggle you will see his record.  Slot should sub in Kelleher instead. Mindgame and kelleher record is much more better when come to saving penalty.

Vvd lost the coin throw for penalty and who to start the first kick.  Psg chose the away end of course.

Exit from FA Cup - ok. Exit from Champions League - Acceptable. Losing in League Cup Finals - Not nice but not my top priority. Winning the EPL Title for 24/25 Season - This is a must. My priorities for the season is simple, win the EPL and be on level terms with the Devils. Cannot stand them boasting as the club with the most EPL Titles.
