Just need to look at the backing to have an idea. BYD and Geely (Zeekr) have been around for ages, so they have the experience in making cars to a high standard by now. Not for nothing that their dealers here are big names. Established dealers will not bet their business on untested brands.

Those represented by smaller dealers, will have more unknowns.

Not really .. Byd dealer use to have Ford and we know how established the car was lol

U be surprise.. locals here are still fixated by MIC equals lost of face .. and hence premium brands like zeekr Volvo , polestar and smart will have a uphill task.. in fact polestar seems to be struggling to sell their pre facelift front wheel drive and clearing stock

Currently the entry level buyer will either look for a conti or a Chinese EV

$150k won’t buy much else that’s VFM

thats perhaps why they set fire to the honda vans 🤔?

I go there for holiday trip so will go explore and maybe walk into the showroom to take a look at their BYD, Nio, Xpeng, Li Auto and Xiaomi cars.

Those newly established that also want to be included into the EV market, like any cat or dogs also setup and manufacture EV is very scary for the car industry, it’s very dangerous and unprofessional but again this is China, fair play don’t exist. 党中央要你做什么, 你就要做。

Yup what you said is legit, that why even Russian also scared China when selling SU fighter jets to them, or even Airbus with their A320 joint venture/ collaboration / technology and skill transfer then buy small unit of maybe 2-4 then reserve engineering a clone look abit then find reason to kick them out, then you yourself own the market. An evil smart move. Now we had C919 and J series fighting jets from China.

MIC equals loss of face? It all depends on the badge. BMW iX3 is also MIC, FYI. But it has sold very well.

Showroom wun see anything bad. Even the Sales Ladies also so much better esp in tier 1 and 2 Cities.

Hmm .. u must be newbies.. it is a known secret that merc n bmw is only purchased during sales quota period .. n the discount is larger than large … same for Audi..
