Just booked my appointment at Woodland

I was hoping for this Saturday, but first available slot is next Thursday.

Oh well, JB has to wait 😁

Bro have you got your car? A few posts ago, you were talking about waiting for your insurance policy no?
The policy kicks in once your car is registered...

Are you still refreshing the JPJ portal hoping for a status change? Or maybe you're stuck at the document approval phase, wondering if your NRIC or LTA log card was "clear enough" for the system?

We know the frustration. The VEP process is supposed to be simple, but technical glitches and strict documentation standards often turn it into a weeks-long headache.

At My Mechanic, we don’t just fix cars—we solve the problems that keep them off the road.

Why your VEP might be stuck:
Document Mismatch: Small discrepancies between your LTA records and the JPJ submission.

Image Quality: Automated systems rejecting uploads that don't meet precise specs.

System Loops: Getting stuck in the "pending" queue with no notification on what’s wrong.

How My Mechanic sorts it out smoothly:
We’ve built a specialized workflow to help our community navigate the VEP hurdle without the stress. From audit-checking your documents before submission to troubleshooting stuck applications, we ensure your RFID tag is ready for your next trip.

Are you currently stuck on the approval phase? 🛑

Don’t let a digital bottleneck ruin your travel plans. Drop us a message or comment "VEP" below, and let our team help you clear the path to Malaysia.

Got my car a couple weeks back with a cover note for insurance.  Just received the insurance certificate yesterday.

In case you have old physical TnG cards, don't go to the RFID lane.. it will automatically deduct..

Stay to the left most lanes so you can tap.. remember those cards will expire or lock after one year of disuse... hassle to re-activate... I may give it to my cousins when I go KL...

Still can use the TNG card at the carpark. Especially those that will give u complimentary parking like in KSL. They need to scan ur TNG card.

When I did my VEP tag last month 28th March at Woodlands, only headlight sticker available. No windscreen ones.

I didn't know there is different VEP tag for windscreen and headlights. I wrongly thought that it is same tag just different possible positions to paste and that they have removed the windscreen position option perhaps due to issues of reading tags. Thanks for sharing

If you choose woodlands and service by them, the only option is the windshield

When I was there installing the headlight tag, they had a problem with one of the newer EV car which had no headlights but thin strip of LED light as headlight.

There was a hooha among the staffs on how to install the headlight vep tag to such tiny lights. I did not stay to find out.

Do check with them your car model and if they have windscreen or headlight vep tag.

It is different for windscreen and headlight.

But got ppl use headlight ones and stick on some acrylic and stick the acrylic to the windscreen and it works too.

Headlight one are more transparent (more stealthy) instead of the windscreen one which is a blue sticker.

Sharing my experience installing VEP at woodland this morning. Overall much better than my experience at Danga Bay last time.

My tag is Windscreen type 😁. Not asked for choice.

Whole duration including waiting 25 min.

Arrival at #03 VEP Office

I reached about 5 min before my appointment time.

Issued a queue number at door, and the queue number was called shortly (< 1 min) after I took a seat.

Registration at counter

Filled a form and make payment via paynow.

Took to wait to be called.

Pre-installation

Shortly (~ 2 min), a staff started calling a group of us via our car plate number (about 9 of us)

We are to follow her downstair and were led into a room.

There were briefed on the installation procedure and told to wait for our turn (each round about 3).

Installation

We were given a big number plate for us to place on our dashboard. And we were to drive our car from the public car park to 1 of 3 installation lots.

A staff will enter the car via passenger side and place the tag against the windscreen for another staff outside to test read with a tag reader.

Once tested, the tag will be pasted (we can choose where we want to paste) and once pasted the staff outside will take a photo and register the tag

Done

We are cleared to leave after that. Within the next minute or so, the VEP tag is shown as activated in my VEP app.  I can drive straight to JB if want to.

Exactly the same when I did mine in Jan before CNY. Already tested in JB, all good. [laugh][laugh] [laugh]
