It's automatic for VEP RFID tag, but not TnG RFID tag. For TnG RFID tag, I have no idea who Singapore users overcome the issue of needing to register MY car... I guess you have to ask them or search online... And yes, please top up your TnG card's physical card balance... TnG card is going to be phased out in 2025 according to their Transport Ministry, so it's impossible to buy one now, and it's also not so easy to find top up kisoks now... top up at the laybys or at certain Watson's or Caring Pharmacy or 7-11 stores... some stores have an admin charge, some don't have... but doesn't matter, the admin charge is only 50 cents... To be more precise, he needs to scroll down the app till he sees "TOLL" icon. There are 3 option. Click on 'RFID".

How to register my car plate in the TnG app? I can't find the option. I still haven't paste the VEP RFID on my car's headlight and activate it. The Toll option in the app can only register a MY car plate.

I checked the app... don't really know how I got my car license plate in now... if you scroll down just a little, you see the Toll icon... if you tap it, it will pull out a small menu at the bottom of your screen and you can select the RFID option... I think you enter the details of your VEP RFID tag and car license plate here... you have to click the 'Activate Now' button at the bottom of the screen under RFID, then enter all your personal details, and follow the instructions... then enter your car license plate - note no spaces... I just entered mine and it says my car plate already registered... Note: you MUST activate your VEP RFID tag in order to see that it is active in the app... I think you have to go to the JPJ website to get it activated... and it can take a few days I think... mine was auto activated when I install cos I did it at the Lima Kedai fitment centre when it was still open then... KNS Actually now with all the initial hiccups and issues ironed out, it's much easier cos you don't have to go in to get it done... it's not difficult to fill in the form online... you really just need to go to OneMotoring and get your all your required documents and print to PDF and save the PDFs for use. Then just upload, the process is quite efficient... I really recommend doing it now cos it's probably not so in demand now... when Malaysia really makes the switch to fully RFID payment only, there will be a mad scramble and I think that's when you'll have a more troublesome time dealing with their bureaucracy... also not having to buy a non-existent card, topping up, and having to search for card to buy after yours expire, is quite a motivating factor for me to get it done... it's their country, so just do what they tell you to do lor... Currently, most ppl still use smartag. RFID implementation will be some years (beyond 2025) away. I usually follow the local.

Is that correct? Apparently, that also has lots of issue with alignment and all... and I watched a few videos on YouTube declaring that RFID system is just a glorified TnG system + alignment issues... hahaha... and another video declared that PayDirect is superior to RFID since it also deducts from the e-wallet and there's no need to align vehicles to reader... I think the response to RFID among Malaysian drivers is quite mixed...

By holding SMARTTAG in the middle of the windscreen, confirm no issue.

Opening the window exposes you and the car to rain. also shorter queue compared to normal TNG lane i'm not entirely familiar with PayDirect but i believe it still needs to used together with either RFID or TNG card.
