107fan 5th Gear July 1, 2025 Share July 1, 2025 It would also be interested to hear domestic views on China tyres. Like asking friends who lives in China their own views. Of course luxury cars will still choose PS4/5, Pirellis, Turanza and MaxConnect. But has Chinese tyres overtaken Falken, Toyo, hankook domestically? Here in sg, I can say that Giti is getting very popular and definitely a direct substitute.

It is within the tolerance range that the tyres can perform. Good tyres push abit of the driver limit to give the driver more confidence in extreme driving. really depends on the driver and the car. if the driver driving a honda jazz and put on PS5 don't expect the car can corner like GT3 RS also lah. every car is designed differently. My take is this for tyre purchase, you must know what you want the most firstly. Comfort or performance, then set a budget, give a buffer of 10%, if there is a tyres model that fits the bill, then go for it. No need to fixate on one brand or one type of tyres. you might change tyres sooner than you think you will. 5

Actually I can understand why they do. I used to think, why bother doing that and even putting bbk on these cars. But as a daily driver seeing the antics of other road users, sharp steering and e brakes are a daily affair. Every single day sure got some PHV or P plate cut in front of you...

Mkl22 Supersonic July 14, 2025 Share July 14, 2025 i will always take good tires. I tried shitty westlake tires once cause it came on the used car i bought. was ok. but certainly cannot compare to better tires. you get what you pay for. Given that the 4pcs or rubber are critical for accident avoidance and safety, i never stinge on tires anymore.

coltanz Clutched November 17, 2025 Share November 17, 2025 (edited) Ex-Giti and current Blackhawk user here with a AWD ride (Subaru XV), a usual day for me is having 3-4 site visits per day rain or shine, fetch wife then go home. Sometimes travel 3-4 hours up north to visit relatives. Giti - switched over from falken because mechanic recommend that its quieter, of cos not expecting ps4/5 type of quality. Disappointingly, threads worn out on all 4 sides after 1 year, skidded 1 time and bang ppl backside because i stubborn dont want change. Blackhawk - Went to AL tyre, requested for Tourado but no more, didnt ask why. Sales say Blackhawk just came in. With ride scraping soon, so just change Blackhawk with sticker discount. TBH, so far so good for a year with 60-65% thread left. No skid, no funny business, medium to soft noise, ride felt okay not bumpy unlike falken. IF compared to Mich or other better brands for quality and not on price, I would say the traction on Blackhawk is lower, dont feel as sticky. But overall, I'm suprised at the price performance ratio. So far happy with Blackhawk, if friends ask, I will recommend but with caveat - MIC vs Established brands, IMO is the consistency of quality. MIC brands might have good batch out at first, then quality suffer because cut corner to increase margin later. So if you buy MIC, buy it with a sense of responsibility to ditch the tyres if it doesnt feel right on road. Please dont buy MIC to test your car performance. End of the day even conti can also change Blackhawk, and I wont think otherwise because everyone have the right to want to save $ because their ride habit demand lower performance.
