Liverpool 2 - 0 Villa. With goals from Salah & Gravenbach and the bonus of a clean sheet (very welcoming as we have been leaking goals).

Quick summary of the game,

• Stopped the run of defeats, hopefully the rot stops and we turned the corner
• Finally got a clean sheet.
• Salah brilliant, Gravenberch is so important to us. Szoboszlai an absolute machine
• MacAllister looks like back to his self after a patchy end to the season before and start of this season
• Slot got it spot on, fair play. When we have such a big summer of change, losing key players and also having an influx, it is better to keep to the basics, tried and tested/proven. The system that the remaining players are familiar and comfortable with.
• Hopefully we can kick on from here. 

Next up, vs Real Madrid (H) in the CL.

Honestly my opinion. We were lucky. Villa missed chances and hit the post prior to our first goal. If any of those gone in the eventual result would be difference.

Its not we played a million times better.

 

We won only because their goal keeper gifted the ball to Salah for our first goal.

He just wanted to be remembered as the keeper who Salah scored his 250 goal against. 

And Villa hit the post.

We created more chances in games we lost.

The difference is this time we shoot and it goes in and only went in because of deflection. 

If no gift to Salah and lucky defected goal we could have lost 1-0 or 2-0.

So lucky 3 points and people say we are playing well again. 

Win Slot is a genius or he has bucked up.

Lose and Slot is the biggest idiot on the planet.

Win the PL and its Slot is lucky. 

Man City and Arsenal didn't want to win the League and just gave it to Liverpool. 

People never saw how angry and bitter Arteta was when he lost?

Win PL and people say it's Klopp's team nothing to do with Slot.

He didn't win the PL and now we all know he is an idiot that got lucky to be hired by Liverpool.

If Slot spent 400m or 200m nett people will say Slot only won the PL because he spent so much money and bought the League like Arsenal and Chelsea and Man Utd have been trying to do for so many years.

People will say if Klopp was given the same money he would have won it too.

But Slot didn't spend much money and still got whacked. 

See it was Klopp's team.

That hit the post moment in the first 5mins got me feeling...not again siah...😅

Boring game...still same same to me...too many times the transition were slow...hesitations delayed the flow...still played holding style...when finally released the ball...teammate lost it...

Luck played a huge part for the much needed win...av started well...then faded out as game progressed...AS knew it and he showed when the goals were scored...his hands were in his pockets all the time...even when ekitike scored the disallowed header...😁

Only bright sparks were sabo was allowed to roam behind anywhere behind the front trio...and gravenberg managed to win and hold position in the midfield...

Still a LOT to be sorted out...all in all...at least not a wasted sleep...gonna makan my dua kosong liao 🙏😂

Only watched the highlights.. 

Congratz to Salah for his 250th... though the goal looked kelong... LOL

Anyway good to have the three musketeers in midfield.. makes it more difficult for opponent to cut through the middle... Slot should look at how to field Wirtz as left wide forward... since Gakpo not doing incredibly well.. 

Not saying Slot is no good but i thot he would have the balls to not start those expensive new players and let them have more time to blend with the team... why do you need so many league defeats to realise? The decision to rest his first team (for league cup defeat) might also allow them more rest...

Klopp couldnt win the league with last year's team... he couldnt even keep all the players fit with his high intensity game... so credit has to go to Slot, winning with Klopp's team... 

The worrying part was that he was forced (by circumstances) to bring in new players and he thought he could put 5 new players into his defending champion team (almost like mimicking Klopp losing players to injury) and get them to play together by his coaching abilities.. Playing Szoboslai at RB was a stroke of genius until one realises Gomez is doing nothing (probably keeping him bubble wrap as CB back up due to Leoni ACL injury) and we sacrifice one of our best midfielder to cover at RB and then CB. Took him so long to allow Calvin Ramsay game time albeit during Carabao Cup defeat (probably just need to put someone at RB). Could have tried him out for some minutes during one of the league games...

Slot is very brave to play teserve team for League Cup.

If he played first team and won at CP but lost to Villa and Real people will say what am idiot.

Prioritise lousy Cup over PL and CL.

They will add Klopp will never have done that. 

Klopp would play kids in the LC.

Win means we played well.

Our first 5 wins I was saying Pool playing really badly. 

Last minute goals won us the game.

Last 4 losses we lost by one goal in the last few mins.

If taken our chances could have been draws.

Also unlucky referring.

Head injury never stop the game.

Our player fouled never given and they scored from the foul.

Win or lose is very fine margins.
