at that price point, the BYD atto2 and AION UT premium edition is hard to ignore.

They dont have factory prices which is strange.

my understanding is comes with puny 40kw battery 315km range WLTP. There are unconfirm news that a 160bhp and 60kw battery is available as well.

My only take on the firefly is there is no rear aircon vent unlike the AION UT and the price barrier. If only they did it like the skoda cars re introduction, it would be helpful.

Perhaps MCF can restart having events at the upcoming EV names like Deepal and Firefly ?. HAve not seen any invites for the longest time.

I was eyeing on the sea lion 5.but I suppose RHD market may not be as large as lhd.and yes, price is but one part of the deal. 10 year battery warranty with 10 year free service plus 8 year warranty is the Singapore norm. Anything less and the market penetrations would be a barrier

for now. Not Yet. But the infra cost will be quite ex.. need to price gouge many buyers to make it feasible to deploy and yet be sustainable.

Yeah the financial cost to set up the infrastructure will be costly. Probably not viable for now.

at this point in time, they should start to consider doing a face lift if the tri circle ring cause resistance to the potential buyer

My guess for battery swap is that it will soon be obsolete as battery tech improves and charging times drop. Unless everyone is onboard, having 1 or 2 companies bearing the cost of operating battery swap stations will be high and further eat into their already thin margins. With EV companies in China fighting for survival, i wonder how sustainable is this going to be.

Even with existing technology, it's already not so bad. Slow AC chargers will be used for home-based charging and the myraid of DC chargers all around singapore is more for quick 10-15 mins top-ups on the go for EV drivers.

Once 800v archi becomes common, DC200/300 will be the best solution.

Actually, while a 50kw DC is a very slow DC charger, I think it’s sufficiently good enough for local context.
 

A quick 10 mins charge at Shell should be able to give most EVs additional range of 45-50km (or a days’s worth of total mileage for the average singaporean driver). Good enough for a quick top up while on the go.

I believe most singaporean EV owners uses residential AC slow chargers for the bulk of their charging needs due to the obvious cost factor and uses DC chargers mainly for on the quick top ups.
