Some Hot Spots

For those using AYE to go to Jurong and Tuas please take note. Recently, I notice an increase of TP with speed cameras standing at the overhead bridges after the Jurong birdpark. Please be careful, as I have notice that ever since the bridges are installed with shelter, I have encounter more overhead bridge speed cameras, at least once per week since July onwards. I also kena 1 warning letter from them for exceeding speed limit on a 80KM/H stretch which I was exiting out from Joo Koon towards AYE. So please be careful when you pass by overhead bridges over that stretch of the expressway. The earliest time which I saw the speed camera is around 7:45 to 8am in the morning.

Hi there,

Morning, yesterday I was traveling from the direction of Upp Thomson Rd near the SICC and Jln Tambur towards the direction of Sing Ming Rd to City, I was captured by the speed camera by the MIW on the overhead bridge. I was traveling around 77-78km/hr. As I am not familiar with the speed limit of this stretch of road, may I know what the is the speed limit of this stretch of road.

Thanks in advance as I am worried.

i think it's 60km/h limit on Upp Thomson Rd (between Yio Chu Kang and Thomson). If u did get clocked <20km/h above the limit, n it's ur 1st time, u probably will get a warning letter....but if it's ur 3rd time or more, then u will definitely get fined n demerit pts.

Mine list goes like this:

1) The stretch of road outside the famous Orchard Country Club with lorries parking. The speed limit is ONLY 60KM/hr although it has 3 lane!!!!(Tat time i gunna there with speed of 85km/hr...gunna 6 demerit + $140 fine. sian 1/2)

2) The road going in and out of Seletar dam. Mod car please beware 'cos it's a dead end.

3) Outside Yishun Safra. There is a nice place spot around the bend.

4) In front of Khatib MRT station. (Where the speed camera is at) I was quite surprise to see road block there 'cos it's a straight road but I've gunna there b4.

5) Yishun Park. Very near Yishun Safra. It's a very deserted area and it's outside Northbrooks Secondary school.

6) Outside Katib Camp Main gate. That time have seen them camping there when I'm performing guard duty there in 1998 during my NSF days :( . Both side of the road is fav spot for TP.

7) Blk 367, Yishun Ring Road. Near the canal.

8) Road going to Gambas Ave (Woodland) when you go pass Chong Pang naisi lemak and wanted to turn Left to woodland. Near the hot spring entrance at seletar air base.

9) Mandai Road. Think needless for me to elaborate some more...

10) Lentor Ave. The main stretch of road leading to Yishun after you exit from SLE.

11)Mandai Ave. Near Mandai Crematorium.

Hi,

sorry to hijack this tread. I am a newbie so can't post topic.

Anyway I just want to ask if you guys know the junction at Mandai Road (After BKE exit 7, the junction where turn right to mandai road and turn left to woodlands), if the right turn is it only can turn when green arrow? Cause I saw a car stopped at the junction when it was green light but I didn't stop and performed my right turn. Saw a red light camera from my rear view mirror so a bit worried now.

Thanks!

Just this evening around 8+ from Tuas heading PIE Changi, saw them sitting in their car with lights off by the shoulder. Nice stretch of road to burn some rubber but there was a Q-plate patrol car I spotted so I follow speed limit of 80km/h and 90km/h till the Q-plate breaks off to pioneer. Seems to be kind of active to be out on patrol so early and at Tuas area somemore... -_-

Dear all,

Just to share a Hotspot that I've been passing by almost everyday.. Nicoll Highway..

Having seen "portable" speed cameras camping, sometimes even camouflage at a corner, at the overhead bridge of the new MRT station - Nicoll Highway. Though there's no flash, they still capture your rear so beware when passing by this area.

Further update: Now they just jit tao stand behind the Drink Don't Drive Banner on the overhead bridge to film those smart alecks.

Usually see them aiming cars going to suntec. Haven't seen them aiming cars towards KPE.

But nonetheless keep a lookout as they will hide one corner of the bridge. One thing to take note is if there is a black police van parked at the bay before the bus stop of the bridge.
