Hi

Appreciate if you can advise how much you paid for your Aspec dB. What's the size?

Btw, I was at Autobacs this afternoon. The guy tried selling the tyres to me at about $108 per piece for R15, on the condition I took his rim/tyre package.

Wondering if it is cheaper elsewhere.

Thanks

No no....not true...it depends on how sharp the corner is lah...if Marina South kind.....80 cannot but if its like my place AYE turning toward Clementi Ave 6......80 still boleh !! [:p][:p][:p]

Tried at Costal Rd at the airport before.....110 !! Still can tahan....

What I am saying is...dun bring this tyre to PG....but for 90% of the road in SG....good enuff. Now if Yoko makes this tyre a bit grippy in the wet....I dun mind going for another set man !!

Next change will go to the Toyo Guwns.......

Hi! there, Hensony,

I've forgotten what car you drive, I've experienced the wet performance of the SO2, but now it's the SO3. I saw an Alfa 146 tracking very well on an SO2 in the wet. Not sure if the SO3 is quiet or not.

Slightly cheaper than what SE Tyre quoted. SE Tyre quoted I think was $110/pce.....but no strings attached unlike Autobacc......

BTW the size that I am using is 195/55/15.

Thanks for the info.

The tyre quoted to me by Autobacs is the same config as yours.

Hi, Paul

I'm driving a 3 years old Ford Laser.

Present tyres are Yokohama A300. They are noisy. Have been looking around for quiet tyres for quite a while. Although Aspec DB's grip is not good, it is its quietness that attracts me.

Since I'm not the racing type and will definitely slow down at a bend/curve, I think Aspec DB's road holding properties should suit me fine.

Neutral Newbie

Greetings,

Sorry, I am new to Yokohama Aspec DB. This is the first time I am using it (come as stock @ 215/45/R17).

Came across a few reviews from car mags. Rated highly for comfort & quiteness but average for grip.

I am actually surprised that it costs S$110 per piece!! [:/] Had used Falken ST115 (195/50/R15) for about S$85 per piece (a year ago).

Please don't get me wrong, I am not an advocate of ST115 but merely using it for price comparison (maybe not apple to apple). [:p]

Just curious that Yoko Aspec DB is so expensive. Wonder how much is that for the 215/45/R17??? [:/][:/][:/]

For that $$, the ST115 are a better buy IMHO. Better grip although the quietness may not match the Aspec dB, the 115s are still decently quiet tires as far as I know.

Yokohama mah....he he he he...the brand cost more.

But it all depends on what is consider as a good deal. If you are all for comfort,....then no matter the price, as long as you feel the comfort, then its a good deal.

Frankly Falkens I will neber touch them. Had a bad experience with them before.

Greetings,

Like I said in my previous message, I am not PRO-Falken!!! [:p]

Just using it for price discussion. Actually, my experience with ST115 was quite OK.

Anyway, my next set should be Toyo. [;)] (have to wait another 2 years!)

Why not go to the tyre shop opposite Ikea.. Leong something.

They got OZ, Zigen, BBS and Enkei.. with wide range of tyres..

Autobacs.. very expensive and personally, I don't like them. THey screw up my sound proofing when I was just a "green horn"
