Contemplating on getting a Matrix

Just tested the 12/01 Corolla just now, and I am in love

 

It's the newer model and it's very very spacious. Tested the car and it drives like a dream, the 1.5 engine is quite powerful (by my standards at least).

 

There's one yr warranty left (or 50K), the dealer is asking for $61.8K. Sweet and affordable. Should I go for it? It does feel like the right car for me

I just went to Toyota Website to check the prices and find up that

the 1.5 series is no more in their pricelist. Their pricelist only

have 1.6 & 1.8L and name also changed to Corolla Altis now. Thailand made.

Would like to add-on; for the high Fuel consumption of matrix, in my opinion it is still worth it and the following will illustrate,

 

1. if my current fuel expenditure is approx. 120 per month for a car with a mileage efficient of 13km per litre.

 

2. Assume that fuel go up 50% after switching to Matrix, that translate to additional of S$60 per month or S$720 per year or S$3,600 for 5 years (basis of 5 years becos most will sell around that time).

 

3. If compare Toyota Corrolla car price (1.5 XLI ?) with Matrix, there is a price gap of approx. S$10,000, then the lost in higher Fuel consumption (S$3,600) of Matrix can be easily off-set from the car price, isn't it.

 

4. Of course both vehicle is not the same built, but just want to make clear the conception that high fuel consumption is the only consideration for "value for money".

Hmmm...huh... really? I personally is driving Getz, I think it's really affordable (for me) and from my newbie car owner opinon, ok, mai hiam cos' the price. Mirror adjuster? Yes, don't have but I only adjusted the mirror not more than 5 times since I bought it close to 7 mths. How many times you want to adjust leh??????

 

I have frens who own matrix, most said fuel consumption is high, maybe heaviest among 1.6L car that's why. Right now, max that I spend for fuel is SGD 130 per mth, is that consider a lot?????? Maybe someone can guide me.

 

IMO, buy what you like and you can afford, live happily within your means, that's the most important la.....enjoy your new car!!!!

Hi, not sure if yo have tested Matrix, I just got one (in fact, just receive it yesterday) and is totally in love with it. Give it a try if you have not. Lots of hidden compartments, very spacious, and feel very comfortable. I understand the FC is a bit on the high side, but after some mod, I know of many who achieve reasonable FC. But it also depends on your driving habit. If you need space and comfort, Matrix is the one, if you need power and speed, go for jap cars. If you can afford VIOS, it is a great car!
