Vtim 3rd Gear March 1, 2004 Share March 1, 2004 Hi bro, Would advice you to go for either Wish or Stream
Vtim 3rd Gear March 1, 2004 Share March 1, 2004 just a note that you should consider, There isn't much Sienta on the roads, so spare parts especially body parts, panels,etc.., engine shouldn't be a problem as it share the same as Vios, will be difficult to get as most stockists will not stock up. So in case there is an accident, eg someone bang into you, then you'll have to wait for a few months for the body parts that's what happens to Honda Accord Euro R's owner as for WISH & Stream, there shouldn't be a problem as there are lot of them on the road

Vtim 3rd Gear March 1, 2004 Share March 1, 2004 The worse thing for a PI car is when you get into a shunt, you might have to wait a couple of weeks for the parts to arrived from Japan Don't think that'll be a problem for WISH as there are already plenty on the road but for the Sienta
Cashiertan Neutral Newbie March 1, 2004 Share March 1, 2004 Hmm for main stream model that both PI and Agent are selling, go to the Agent. Selling at 90K Kah motor makes about 5K, that is about the profit margin for the PI too. You have to know that the agent as well as the PI makes another 3% to 5% from the loan that you take. So you take a 70K loan from the bank they get another 2K to 4K profit. Use that to pressure them. Whne i first bought my Accent they only make 1K from me and the the rest from my loan. Well i think it is about 5K difference between the 1.7 and 2.0 Stream but then the road tax, insurance, as well as fuel consumption will adds up. Do your sum carefully. It is not only the monthly installments you have to consider. Thats my kind of guy. in Sg, ppl bargain for everything except cars and house. Noe ur stuff b4 go bargaining and u will most likely get what u wanted for if u ask hard enough in the correct way. for a normal car, i use 3.5 * OMV to get the rough cost of their car. Than i get asking price 3k abv that and bargain! when they say they dun earn enough or dun losing $$$ selling to u at that price, dun feel sorry for them as they are lying! PLz note that abv tatics dun work for Toyota and Mazda3. May work for other brands as they are desperate to make up lost grounds becoz of Vios, Altis, Mazda3 & maybe Matrix? Source say that the 1st 3 mths, the car sales is 1st) Toyota 2nd)HYUNDAI(very surprise) 3rd)Mazda 4th)Nissan 5th)Honda
Liang Neutral Newbie March 1, 2004 Share March 1, 2004 I know this is JapTalk... but why don't your uncle consider a Opel Zafira? Last I've seen, a 1.8A cost less than 90K. If you can get a 1.6M, should be even cheaper, maybe 85K. IMHO, much better than the KIA and comparable to Stream. Picnic is bigger and more expensive. The Sienta may be too under-powered for 7 people.
Hondacrv Neutral Newbie March 2, 2004 Share March 2, 2004 hm, sienta is not a 7 seater, it is a 5+2.. there is this corolla spacio also comes in 5+2 config.. better looking but slightly more expensive.. also a 1.5VVTi..
Vooth 2nd Gear March 2, 2004 Share March 2, 2004 yah correct, sienta is 5+2, the 2 is for kids below 5 lah. There's one at my mscp and when I saw the last 2 seats, really look like toy seats but gotta admit it looks cute but a bit ex lei For that price i'll wait for the new trajet

Buzz Neutral Newbie March 2, 2004 Share March 2, 2004 Also to buy a car from Agent go to their authorized delaers because they will give you a better deal. They are more desperate to close the deal. If they can't give you a better rpice for the car they might take in your car at a higher price.
Vtim 3rd Gear March 2, 2004 Share March 2, 2004 don't think you'll have much problem with other PIs, maybe during 1st year warranty period, after which, outside stockists (not refering to Ricardo) will have parts available for WISH

Windcruiser Neutral Newbie March 2, 2004 Share March 2, 2004 (edited) Personally I am considering the stream 1.7 because I only need the additional space occasionally. A 2.0 would be too much for me to maintain even though it has all the extra things. See how lah. Maybe the price will narrow so much that it does not make sense anymore to get the 1.7. Who knows. ----------------- I was in the same dilemma like you juz a month ago, I decided to go for Stream 1.7L for practical reasons. Bought mine from KM at $91K. But went back today to make payment and the price dropped by $1.5k for guarantee COE due to new tax structure. You might want to check them out again. Thunder Neutral Newbie March 3, 2004 Share March 3, 2004 I went to KM last week to test drive the 1.7. Price around $90k. Now I believe it has gone down to $87k for non-guarantee COE. I am still waiting for the price to go down. My current ride is still quite new so may wait for a while more. Saw a face-lifted stream 1.7 the other day. Looks good. Front and rear different. What freebies did you get from the SE? Maybe when you get your ride, can share your experience with me. I am very interested. ↡ Advertisement
