Drop in Tyre Pressure

I notice that after every 2-3 weeks when I go to the petrol station to check my tyre pressure, there is a drop of about 10-15 Kpa on all tyres.

Normally, I check the pressure in the morning (almost same time always). Everytime, the tyre start to inflate from around 230 to the set pressure of 245.

Is this normal or there is something wrong with the tyre and rim ?

FYI, my previous car did not have this problem.

It is very normal. Your should do a bi-weekly check on your tyre pressures, preferably in the morning to ensure that your tyres are optimally inflated. This reduces wear and tear, grip, fuel consumption, etc.nod.gif

How do we then inflate the tyres in the correct pressure? becos going to the petrol station would take some distance and by then, the tyres might have been warm (which have higher pressure inside)... confused.gif

anyone can advise?

That is why I mentioned, you reduce the odds by pumping EARLY in the morning...

Anyway any slight increase in temp is not that significant unless you have travelled a few kms

For my practice, every other week, I would make, on my way to work, arnd 6am, a trip to the Petrol kiosk, and do the necessary.thumbsup.gif

before going home, pump 4 to 5 psi more than usual, then inthe morning before moving off, using a tyre pressure gauge to measure and bleed until the right pressure...thumbsup.gif
