Normal_aspirated Clutched July 27, 2004 Share July 27, 2004 <<<<<<<Eh... That one censored. Too hard core to recommend here.>>>>>> Not so if you get LTA approved types...... Heard it take more than 6 mths to process...... ======Qoute from onemotoring website============= Superchargers or Turbochargers The addition of superchargers or turbochargers to a vehicle may adversely affect the safe operation and its exhaust emission characteristics. Therefore, LTA would require the following to be submitted for evaluation: a) Technical specifications and installation details (including pictures and drawings) of the proposed supercharger or turbocharger. b) Certification from the vehicle manufacturer stating that the supercharger or turbocharger is suitable for the vehicle on a per make and model of the vehicle. c) Evidence or test reports to show that the turbocharger or supercharger when fitted to the vehicle on a per make and model basis complied with prevailing exhaust emission standards. =============UnQoute==============================
Wildboar Neutral Newbie July 27, 2004 Share July 27, 2004 too much time and too much money involved lah bro. Dun think vehicle manufacturer will wanna approve it as well. better off changing car.
BMW320i Neutral Newbie July 27, 2004 Share July 27, 2004 the procedure will cost about 1500+ which includes paperwork, inspections, blueprint of TC fixture. The approval took about 6 months. The risks involve are, you need to buy a TC to be able to fit it and affirm its safe. The thing is after buying, it somehow doesn't fit your car or need to do some cuttings which LTA deem dangerous, then you just wasted money on that TC. Wildboar Neutral Newbie July 27, 2004 Share July 27, 2004 u mean the procedure alone will cost 1500+. And that excludes the price of the TC itself and its installation? If so... Wow! I'll rather sell and change to a new TC car.
BMW320i Neutral Newbie July 27, 2004 Share July 27, 2004 (edited) yup ! and even after buying the TC, you don't even know if LTA is gonna approve it. Depending on what kinda TC, provided LTA approve, you should be spending about 6-7k on in total Edited July 27, 2004 by BMW320i
