Steering Wheel Shudder when braking

If a car's steering wheel shudders a bit when you step on the brakes when travelling high speed, does it imply that the front brake disc rotors are warped or could it be something else?

for me it was the left rotor that was warped.

I changed both rotors and pads. Problem went away after that.

if the problem persists, then maybe check your steering column...might be worn out or loose.

I'm beginning to suspect that the rotors might be at fault. Wouldn't skimming the rotors help?

you must have gone thru' a pot hole or hump at speed, it's either the disc rotor is warped or the wheel hub is bended/damaged sweatdrop.gifsweatdrop.gifsweatdrop.gif

Woooo...let's hope it's just the rotors and not the wheel hub damaged. But if the hub is damaged, wouldn't it shudder regardless of whether I brake or not? Hmm...

if it's mild damage, only when braking from speed to slow down then you'll feel it, happens to my previous Alfa 33 16v, hit a pot hole at around 140kmh, but the drive is still ok, only have wheel shuddler when braking from 100kmh & above, change the rotor still the same, then the mech decided to jack up the front without the wheels & engage 2nd gear, can see the wheel hub warblingsweatdrop.gifsweatdrop.gifsweatdrop.gif
