Vtim 3rd Gear August 14, 2004 Share August 14, 2004 Hahaa... tempted to try the 100w halogen though ..cheaper on the wallet as well as not so hot yap, much cheaper but I did used it on my old Alfa 33, the headlight was able to take the heat but the internal silver reflector seems to have deformed & loose the shinning coating
Lightspeed Clutched August 14, 2004 Share August 14, 2004 Wah lau... all the horror stories ... for $60 bucks somemore How much did you pay for them? Did you use them on your civic as well?
Vtim 3rd Gear August 14, 2004 Share August 14, 2004 mine was quite sometime back, should be around '95, back then is was a little 'greenish/rainbow' in colour running on 95W I think I paid around $40++, after seeing the effect on the reflector, didn't dare to use it on the Civic

Silver_blade Turbocharged August 23, 2004 Share August 23, 2004 Hahaa... tempted to try the 100w halogen though ..cheaper on the wallet as well as not so hot Buld with wattage higher then your car's, will harden the hardness and melt it eventually (maybe a year or more). Anyway, unless HID lamp come factory-fitted, otherwise it is not so worth the $$$. The upgrade is ex and the buld replacement is also very ex. My previous headlamp was HID and the replacment bulb is slightly over $200 each. Tho it last longer, but when it's time to replace it, your wallet will suffer. I worked out the cost between HID (last longer but ex) and halogen (shorter lifespan, but cheap), it is still more worth it to replace halogen yearly, than to replace HID bulb once every 2 years. Silver_blade Turbocharged August 23, 2004 Share August 23, 2004 Of course... At one point, ROV was very 'on' in booking cars with retro fitted HID....heard the fine is around $500. ↡ Advertisement
