Mello Neutral Newbie August 20, 2004 Share August 20, 2004 Wah so ex ah? Wanted to change mine to brembo disc brakes for all 4. If it cost $2k just to change my rear to disc, then if change 4 sure cost me a bomb. Anyone know the price?
Dwoon 1st Gear August 20, 2004 Share August 20, 2004 Used Brembos from half cuts go for about $2K.
Silver_blade Turbocharged August 20, 2004 Share August 20, 2004 The brake rotor itself is no-ex...around $300 for a pair. But the convert the rear brake drum to disc is ex. It's a complicated job, eg. customised bracket for the caliper, mounting for the disc, brake pad, etc.
Mello Neutral Newbie August 20, 2004 Share August 20, 2004 What is half cuts? 2nd hand? or OEM from other cars?
Mello Neutral Newbie August 20, 2004 Share August 20, 2004 OIC, so the cost is for the conversion from drum to disc. So if i only change my front disc to brembo should be quite cheap? Below $500? What should i do to make my brakes more effective and sensitive? My car is quite new but i feel that the brake not good enough.
Dwoon 1st Gear August 20, 2004 Share August 20, 2004 Basically means used.
Bernard_2 Neutral Newbie August 20, 2004 Share August 20, 2004 Don't spend extra $$$. Changing to Disc might need to change couple of items.
En0203 2nd Gear August 20, 2004 Share August 20, 2004 very ex ler i think u should keep ur current brake. ur car should have ABS rite? braking should not be a problem for new car unless u are going for engine upgrade
Dwoon 1st Gear August 20, 2004 Share August 20, 2004 Go for the poor mans' brakes upgrade lor........ - Get better pads - Get braided hoses - Install brake stopper. Errr..... not necessarily in that order.
Silver_blade Turbocharged August 20, 2004 Share August 20, 2004 Do what Dwoon has suggested. It will help improve your brake feel...but not too much. How the brake feel has got to do with a number reasons/parts eg. size of brake rotor. size type of caliper (single,2 or 4 port), type of brake hose, type of brake pad, chassis design, etc.
