Josephteo 1st Gear September 14, 2007 Share September 14, 2007 Hi Bros..sorry to side-track a bit..but still on the same note on lights.. I noticed after installing the new bosch plus white (4000K) lights, my sidelights (the small bulbs by the side of the main headlights) are more yellow as compared to the Bosch main lights. Any bros got recommendations on whiter sidelights ? And if the sidelights are whiter.. is it still LTA compliant? I saw some cars out there who just turn on the sidelights and the fog lights..their sidelights seems very whitish...
Uplinkhack 1st Gear September 14, 2007 Share September 14, 2007 hi bro u mean installation add another $2 or add another $42??? So the power2night is replacement for VP, with brighter light at a cheaper price??? Got 2 free small bulbs or not
Uplinkhack 1st Gear September 14, 2007 Share September 14, 2007 actually i also wanna know about it haha but what's a Xenon effect? Super white light ah? or blue..
Mazda323 Neutral Newbie September 14, 2007 Share September 14, 2007 yea man...i thought of changing it... coz my current bulb is those cheapo white light..not bright at all...
Josephteo 1st Gear September 14, 2007 Share September 14, 2007 Personally i think those white "Xenon" effect lights like Philips Crystal Vision, Diamond Vision... it is really white (color temperature above 4300K) and looks like those Xenon lights...but the problem is, it is not as bright (lumens brightness ratings not high enough) as the real HID Xenon types (which has very high lumens brightness rating). So if you buy those white ones (usually not LTA compliant coz it is more than 4000K color temperature) yes, you'll have the look..but not the effective brightness on the roads. I've noticed for myself already, coz i saw those cars with the white lights (e.g. Philips DV) on the road... doesn't have much brightness..but very white light though... So it all boils down whether u want the look, or the effectiveness... as for Power2night.. i'm not sure.. but if it is replacement of philips Vision Plus..then it should be good..but still yellowish.. just my own opinion. Uplinkhack 1st Gear September 14, 2007 Share September 14, 2007 err but then how come its called cool blue when its white ah? isn't it suppose to be blue in color..
Josephteo 1st Gear September 14, 2007 Share September 14, 2007 hmm.. i guess you can call it whitish blue... correct me if i'm wrong but the color temperature affects the color of the lights... so below 4000K is yellow... then 4000K towards 6000K is white then 6000K onwards is blue... Also, note that for example the Philips Blue Vision.. it is 4000K..it is not blue as stated..it is more yellowish white... but the bulbs have a blue-ish coating thing..think the same for the cool blue. My current headlights is Bosch Plus White..but it is also 4000K .. more yellowish white..but if u look at the headlights from certain angle..you can see blue coz the bulbs have a blue quartz glass..think the purpose is to remove the yellow to give a more white-ish look..
