Luckcent 4th Gear September 1, 2004 Share September 1, 2004 If it is written in black and white, you have no choice but to go back for servicing or at the expense of void warranty.

Pisces69 6th Gear September 1, 2004 Share September 1, 2004 [reply]Hi guys, my toyota is ardy due for its next servicing. Its mileage is now at 40000 and I called up Toyota and they told me that at 40000, it would be a major servicing and will cost S$405 for my toyota corolla 1.5 auto. I would like to know for major servicing, what does it check on or change?? =========================================== If you look at the items being serviced, could you confirm that BM will change all those items mentioned? NO right. Unless you stand beside the car & watch & you know about engines. Most of those items will not even be touched. The main items like oil & filter, plugs & maybe air filter prob be done only. Most workshops give a very long list of items to be done so it looks impressive to someone not familiar with cars. The agents now make more from the servicing packages than they do selling cars. That's why some items which need some special tool or computer will cost much more as nobody else can do it for you, until someone else brings in a similar machine then their price will drop. That's also the reason why they threaten you with the "outside servicing will void your warranty". As long as the servicing is being done by a qualified mechanic, most of the servicing can be done at outside workshops at maybe less than half the price. I'm just quite sick of seing pple in SG being ripped off by retailers & workshops. In countries like US, Europe & Aust. the govt has laws to protect their pple from unscrupulous businesses.
