Terras14 September 26, 2004 Share September 26, 2004 Hi, As you i am currently looking at hatchbacks too...went to see M2, colt as well as YRVT... Interior wise, YRV really lose out but the moonroof is very nice...exterior wise think YRV is nicer with bodykit...fuel consumption wise, it is using a toyota engine i think hence shld be ok, but cannot fight with fit/jazz....resale value i also checking coz it seems quite little YRV on the road such that i cannot see much 2nd hand ones....but the best is the rd tax is cheap and it got steer shift for the auto....see if you can see this pic

Honda_vtec Neutral Newbie September 26, 2004 Share September 26, 2004 hi... get the Turbo version..
Discoburg Supersonic September 26, 2004 Share September 26, 2004 Pay more for road tax for a 1.3 turbo??? Pointless right???
Silver_blade Turbocharged September 26, 2004 Share September 26, 2004 You just pay the road tax of a 1.3l car....but insurance premium may be a little costly (still managable). I find YRV turbo's ride is too harsh, absoletely terrible for normal driving, but should be good for the track. The cheapest turbo car in the market. Icer Neutral Newbie September 27, 2004 Author Share September 27, 2004 Hi guys, I had succumbed to the price factor and had bought a GETZ. I still think that it is pretty cool and economical to drive. The rest will be a burden to my pocket. Went down to Daihatsu but damn it they close at 5pm! Really slack man! Anyway, think its better to get a car that is more common than YRV which is rather rare. GETZ is really everywhere!
Dwoon 1st Gear September 27, 2004 Share September 27, 2004 Actually......... my take is if you're paying such high prices for a car (espacially in Sgp), having the car rare is good. Why pay so much...... then while on the road, you left, right, front & rear, all also same car. OK..... I asking to be with this statement..... Dwoon 1st Gear September 27, 2004 Share September 27, 2004 When the car is rare, dun need to spend additional money to make it more unique liao.... no need for aftermarket emblems, grilles, stickers, etc......
Daidai Neutral Newbie September 28, 2004 Share September 28, 2004 Hi Icer, Saw your post too late. I am currently driving an auto YRV NA w/steershift. Well, I have driven Getz before and I must say that the engine is quiet and the ride is comfy. However, I find that the engine for 1.3 lacks some punch and I have much difficulty accelerating upslope. This prompted me to get a YRV instead of a Getz as I prefer the engine specs of YRV. But do note that YRV has a hard suspension be NA or Turbo. If you are a relax driver, it may be better off to get a Getz. I am just back from M'sia and have no problem travelling at 130km/hr along NS highway although ride is slightly bumpy. Nevertheless, the FC during this trip is ard 16.5 km/ltr and I am getting 15 km/l for normal day driving.
Dwoon 1st Gear September 28, 2004 Share September 28, 2004 If you like firmer ride with good handling. Might I recommend the IST. I find the power adequate but what strikes me is the handling. It is one of the better ones I've experienced. The ride is firm but not too uncommfortable. ↡ Advertisement
