Help Needed on Car Choice!!!

I dun have the exact details for what the i stands for but it is suppose to be the new generation of the VTEC.....called i-VTEC.

Wow,

 

Thanks for the overwhelming response. Anybody got any info on the drivability of the Honda Exi?

 

I test drove the Corolla Xli and the Honda Exi auto. Only impression I have is that the Toyota is very torquey from standstill but kinda tough to achieve higher speed.

Also the steering is very light at expressway speeds (90km/h). Good for parking, bad for fast driving.

 

The Honda is not so torquey, gotta ram quite a bit. But the steering seems to be heavier as the speed increases, very good for high speed drives. Didn't confirm this with the SE though.

 

Any bros out there with experience with either these 2 cars please reply here....Thanks a bunch!

OIC...anyway my colleague is looking at the Kia Carens at S$88k vs the Honda Stream at below S$91,388...

 

Which do you think is a better buy? [crazy]

Hi Andrew..

 

Go for MPV.. now since you don't have kids (if you are the right andrew I spoke on sat), you don't see the need..

 

Wait till you got kids, maid and probably grandparents, you will see the need for a bigger car.

 

For Toyota Corollo, you can't go fast on that stock cars.. need to upgrade tyres if you wanna go fast. Else, be like me spent on TRD suspension kits, strut bar for front and rear etc.

 

For Honda.. resell value low and consumption is high.

 

Take a look at Imprezzas... they are quite a fav in my eyes.

 

Err.. if you want to buy corolla, maybe you don't mind take a look at my modded TRD corolla.. I got this itchy thing of selling it cos I am eyeing SUV now..

guess it would be all up to ur coleak..i mean if not so brand conscious, all he ever need is a transport. Carens would be a good buy?

 

but again, if he's into branded stuff, then Stream would be the 1 to go for...but of cos besides paying for the brand, i'm sure there's a lot more concessions Stream has got to offer [rolleyes]

Hi there!

 

I am stuck in a rut. Last weekend went over to look at Toyota corolla and the Honda Cic Exi. The price is about the same for both.

 

But I was wondering which is more worth it?

 

Apparently the OMV is different between the 2 with the Honda being slightly higher at 17K vs the corolla at 14K. SHould this factor heavily? Also need some advice on the relative performance and maybe some info on the plus and minus between the 2.

 

Considerations : Toyota 1.5XLi vs the Honda Civic EXi (Auto or manual )

 

Appreciate any help.

Another you should consider. Honda insurance is higher than Toyota.

Depend on driving style. If u like fast pick up and rev, go for honda. vtec love rev to excel and enjoy.

 

Try high rev with corolla and you will feel strain and roughness. Corolla is more suited to normal driving with some brisk driving style.

 

IMO if all out 0-100 runs, fast pick up to highway speed is your cup of tea, honda is a better car. To really beat the opponent, u need to extract rev from the engine and feel the rev like driving a sport car.

 

Handling wise I think they are on par.

I beg to differ. The stock G9 handling is not as sharp, steering is rather light at high speed. Furthermore, the roll is really bad. Cool will be able to comment on this.

 

Even though I always find the Honda's steering on the light side, it is still better than the Rolla.

Standard spring tends to be towards the comfort rather then performance. Within certain speed limits and conering they are okay. As for which is better or softer, I have not personally tested them.

 

I tend to agree from heresay that G9 are softer, Maybe, I should say handling within normal driving are on par when push to higher limits the G9 have to fall out earlier.

 

Steering wise, precision is more important that light feel. The car should be predictable and pointed to the direction of the steering irrespective of the lightness or heaviness.

Although insurance is Honda higher, but U want to be a 'Doggie buyer' to get a Toyota in BM!!! [jawdrop]
