Vtim 3rd Gear October 23, 2002 Share October 23, 2002 >>thu i have not really driven both makes in recent years, from what i read n heard, to me alfa engines are like scaled down ferraris engines:- strong hot latin flavour with the right sounds to go with them<< This is true, I still love the sound of Alfa engines V6, TS but my fav is the Boxer >>on the other hand, hondo engines are like highly tuned sawing machines, very refined and potent at the same times but not really hot blooded like the alfas.......... << Well, if only Alfa have the potent power of the 2.0 iVTEC (that powers the S2000, not the one on CRV or Stream) that matches the 'lovely' Alfa tune, it will be great . Aha8 Neutral Newbie October 26, 2002 Share October 26, 2002 bro, looking at hoda vti (A), the total cost is 79+ and if u have bought it at 87+, wouldnt KM earn 6+ instead of 3+? Dun think KM earn so little, because still got agents comission ley?! Can explain how you arrive at this figures?
Rainbowsix Neutral Newbie October 27, 2002 Share October 27, 2002 Attach is the detail breakdown of car cost for cars registered in Sept this year, taken from Onemotoring.com.sg. I chose the Honda Civic for the same reason as you, also my OMV is $19k+ & based on the the selling price of $87k+, KM makes a profit about $3k+ from my car. I don't put on fanciful bodykits, except for lowering with Eibach Pro-kit springs & 15" Enkei CPS-II rims, & I don't have any problems with road blocks. I prefer 'Function' over 'Form' I remember seeing your red Civic on Friday night at Seletar dam with your unique reg. plate as well as your wife and kid. Too bad I had to go off early otherwise will stay back and check out your lowered suspension.
Vtim 3rd Gear October 28, 2002 Share October 28, 2002 I actually paid S$86,988 (top up another S$1k for Leather) for my Civi VTi (M). My OMV was S$19k+ & COE was almost S$30k . If you work out the necesssary Taxes, ARF...blah, blah...etc. It will almost cost S$82+ . Actually it's almost S$4k profit, if you based on those calculation . Having said all that, that doesn't mean Kah Motor is not making much. Being a Authorised Dealer, they will have some form of cut-back/discount in one form or another, if they meet their projected target of number of vehicles . That's why, when Nissan was out selling Toyota, Borneo Motor begin to sell the Corolla at a slight lost, in order to gain back the number one position & not losing the dealership, but they will some other form of cut-back if they meet the target
Zafira18 1st Gear October 29, 2002 Share October 29, 2002 Hi Alvin, It depends on he needs & preference: 1.7L Streams : Handles like a saloon car with basic 7 seater & more responsive engine to Carens 1.8 Carens: Lesser Handling than the Stream but good 7 seater (more gimicks than stream) with last roll air-con & less powerful engine. ** 2.0 iVTEC Streams will have the last roll air-con & of course a more powerful & responsive engine than both the above but at a $$$Premium$$$ I think for this round, Zafira fit in nicely,Handles like a saloon, good for 7 sits, last roll air-con with decent power! and + 4 airbags too! Vtim 3rd Gear October 29, 2002 Share October 29, 2002 How much is a new Zafira 1.6 M now? The 1.8 only comes in Auto & I'm not a Auto man I saw on paper there is a owner selling his 1.6 M Zafira (reg 2000, I think), quite tempted
Zafira18 1st Gear October 29, 2002 Share October 29, 2002 shld be in the region of 92k for 1.6 manual and with a high OMV of around 22k
Rainbowsix Neutral Newbie October 30, 2002 Share October 30, 2002 My friend just booked for one at $93 500 and he got a whole load of freebies such as leather seats, sports rims and VCD player too! Though I am not really a MPV kindda person, must say the Zafira is worth considering! I esp like the advert.
Presea 3rd Gear October 30, 2002 Share October 30, 2002 I was "chased" by a determined Opel Zafira 1.8 just this morning....quite aggressive, but never tried to "take me on", so I couldn't see it in full flight. I heard it's quite powerful...like the Scenic 2.0. No wonder the bodykits are so fierce for some of them.
Zafira18 1st Gear October 30, 2002 Share October 30, 2002 which part you kenna chase? and wat colour ? maybe its me....LOL
Zafira18 1st Gear October 30, 2002 Share October 30, 2002 btw for zafi or opel car,is slow on pick up due to the weight. But once pass the barrier, you can easily hit 180 for zafi and one of the astra owner able to hit 190 with the 1.4 manual.
Rainbowsix Neutral Newbie November 6, 2002 Share November 6, 2002 1.4 manual can do 190 km/h? That is very good! My friend is driving a 1.8 in Australia but he drive very tame one so cannot ask him about the top speed.
Zafira18 1st Gear November 6, 2002 Share November 6, 2002 wah, yr friend 1.8 i think can easily reach 220km/h if is a manual
Presea 3rd Gear November 6, 2002 Share November 6, 2002 ...sorry...never see this post.... As for the colour....is your Zafira a grey coloured one? Remember a black Presea on the CTE in the morning heading north around 8:20am that day? I normally drive faster than all other traffic....so for another car to keep up with me...I consider it quite an accomplishment.... but I'm not one of those "lane weavers", I just accelerate quickly to keep up with the vehicle in front,...and they normally cut in...and I pass them in turn... ↡ Advertisement
