Characteristics of suspension engine rubber bushing

(1) Stiffness: The static stiffness of an elastic part refers to the spring load that produces a unit deformation, i.e. the ratio of force to displacement; the dynamic stiffness refers to the ratio of the amplitude of excitation to the amplitude of displacement.

(Thanks for the help and support of Chongqing Feilong Jiangli Auto Parts technical department)

(2) Fatigue failure strength (tens of thousands of times) generally refers to the suspension in a certain frequency, rated load, the total vibration in tens of thousands of times after no damage, is an important indicator of failure life.

(3) The bonding strength between rubber and metal skeleton is required to be higher than 3MPa in the general design of bonding surface peeling, but the bonding strength of the bonding surface decreases after long-term use in high temperature environment, resulting in damage.

(4) The aging suspension cushion will inevitably be affected by heat, ozone and ultraviolet rays in use, which will cause the tensile strength and mechanical properties of the suspension cushion to decrease, and produce crack permanent deformation. The suspension cushion will deform repeatedly in use, and under the influence of heating and other factors, the rubber will produce permanent deformation, so that the rubber piece floor ruler. According to the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the suspension system, when the power assembly vibrates at low frequencies, the cushion with large damping factor should be adopted to reduce the amplitude of vibration; when the power assembly vibrates at high frequencies above 30 Hz, in order to reduce the impact of the power assembly vibration on the whole vehicle, the high frequency vibration should be cut off. The smaller the cushion damping, the smaller the damping, the smaller the vibration.

Influence of mounting system on NVH characteristics of vehicle

The two main functions of suspension components:(Thanks for the help and support of Chongqing Feilong Jiangli Auto Parts technical department)

(1) the displacement of the supporting powertrain and the East power train.

(2) the vibration of the isolation power assembly is transferred to the vehicle body to improve the NVH of the vehicle. The higher stiffness of suspension is favorable for supporting powertrain, which is unfavorable to NVH of vehicle.

The lower stiffness of the suspension is beneficial to the NWH of the vehicle and is not conducive to the support of the powertrain. Through the reasonable matching design of the mounting system, a better comprehensive result can be obtained, so that the NVH performance of the mounting system can be maximized while satisfying the support power assembly.

Neutral Newbie

Hi Sniper,

I got my 4 engine mounts changed from my Wish last week. S$380 for both parts and labour. Toyota Original Made in Japan parts. Mechanic advice me take Japan parts. Said Thailand parts not as lasting.

Engine now no more vibrate. Very smooth. :)

Hi juzy8, can give me the workshop?

bro,

can pm me the wkshop for engine mounting change..380 inclusive of japan parts, right?

Bro, where is that workshop? Can pm me.

wah.. you are like asking 9 years ago people's post. price wont be valid anymore la. i suggest you go stockist and ask pricing for your engine mountings than get your regular workshop to replacement. in this way also cheaper than letting workshop supply parts and labor.

Recently I felt some vibrations on my BMW 125i. I went to workshops in Singapore and enquired how much to change engine mounting and transmission mounting. I was quoted $600 parts and labor. So I went to a parts supplier and bought both mounting for $110 and drove to JB and had them installed for SGD$50.

Twincharged

my wife's car starting to have a low frequency resonance sound during idling, since 2 weeks ago

that's early sign of engine mountings hardening

steering wheel is still vibration free but I guess it will come gradually

when I checked the maintenance record, last mountings change was at 81k km

current mileage is 155k, quite consistent

next week will book a slot to replace it

Gearbox mounting is OK? Usually change both at same time. Get 0.5km/l better fuel consumption

I also always change both at the same time

as the engine + gearbox is supported by these 3 pieces

got people change engine mountings but don't want to change gearbox mounting one meh? 😅

Has anyone done walnut blasting for W212 engine at 100,000+ km?   Can feel any difference or not?

our old W204 with M271 Evo engine misfired at 230k km, due to choked inlet ports

walnut blasting solved it

no difference in engine power or smoothness before and after the walnut blasting

current car get walnut blasted at 110k km, as a pre-emptive measure, while fixing a leaking water pipe under the intake manifold

Got. Me. Can check and see. Gearbox mount is not fluid filled plus not near engine manifold or turbos. Not so easy to die.
you inspect the gearbox mount and see. Don’t need to change for just because workshop say might as well. Same with coils. I only change one. So far I have added another 30-40k km after just changing one coil.
