Ybauluck Neutral Newbie November 1, 2004 Share November 1, 2004 Hi there, Am new to this forum. Am from Mauritius I did like to have some info on these car as I have been offered imported ones from Singapore. The cars that I have been offered are: Nissan N16 also known as Nissan Bluebird Sylphy (Year 2002) >> Local people in Mauritius told me that its fuel consumption is quite high for a 1500cc Honda City (Year 2000) Honda Civic ES 3 (EXI and VTI and VTI-s) (Year 2001 - 2002) >> Could you tell me the difference between these grades as I dont know the difference between them ? Toyota Corolla EE111 (Year 2000) Mitsubishi Lancer CK1A (Year 2000) What are the feedback that you can provide me ? Are there any major difference between the Singapore ones and Japanese ones ?? Any suggestion for car import from Singapore less than 4 years and not above 1600cc ? Thanks, Yusuf ↡ Advertisement
Ybauluck Neutral Newbie November 3, 2004 Author Share November 3, 2004 Please some advice... Any pocket rocket not more than 1600cc like the Toyota Glanza used to be and not more than 4 years... Does anyone have links to car exporters in Singapore ? Thanks, Yusuf
Yeobh 4th Gear November 3, 2004 Share November 3, 2004 You have to make a trip to Singapore, get the feel and learn about the market. There are many used car centres all hungry for export markets. Both Japanese domestic and export cars are widely sold in Singapore.
Ybauluck Neutral Newbie November 3, 2004 Author Share November 3, 2004 I am not a dealer. So I can't afford time and money to make the trip from Mauritius to Singapore.. I did like to have some feedback on those cars mentioned above. Especially on the N16 and 323 fuel consumption. Any pocket rocket ?????? Plzz some advice. Thanks Yusuf
Redeel Neutral Newbie November 3, 2004 Share November 3, 2004 It is quite well known here that the N16 is on the high side for fuel consumption. Try not to get it. =) eddie
Ybauluck Neutral Newbie November 3, 2004 Author Share November 3, 2004 But then which car do you advise me to get ? Are there any turbo cars not above 1600cc available and less than 4 years ?? I have also been offered a Vitz RS with all gizmos but there are too many of it on Mauritian roads.

Poortraveller 1st Gear November 4, 2004 Share November 4, 2004 (edited) r u referring to Mazda 323?? my ride is 323 (1.6) auto and i do not know the road condition of your place and your driving style so it is very difficult for me to advice you on the FC of this car. base on my driving style and my road condition, i am getting around 9~10km/l and most of the time is 9km/l. my car is about 1 year 3 months old Edited November 4, 2004 by Tenminste
Redeel Neutral Newbie November 4, 2004 Share November 4, 2004 (edited) Looks like the most likely car below 1600cc and turbo-charged for export here would be Daihatsu YRV Turbo 1.3A. Have you seen it anywhere? If your just want something that saves petrol best, think EE111 is a good choice. By the way, i'm driving a CK1 and i'm happy with it. Getting 16km/l with super petrol saving driving method. (i.e. most don't get that!!!) Usual consumption for CK1 should be around 12-13km/l for a manual. eddie Edited November 4, 2004 by Redeel
Ybauluck Neutral Newbie November 4, 2004 Author Share November 4, 2004 Wow 16 km/l I should hurry to get it because I think the last one are 2000 . I too have got good feedback on EE111..the only fact is that it is too common among taxi drivers. Think I would be going for a 2002 Mazda 323 with the update headlights (sedan or sports wagon) or a Honda Civic but don't know which specification so many here. We got the EXI, VTi, Vti-S and 150i. Don't know the difference between them.
Civicgeek Neutral Newbie November 4, 2004 Share November 4, 2004 Hi there, I have been to Mauritius and I know the road conditions. I guess the Honda Civic ES8, or ES1 will be for you. ES8- VTi 1.5 ES1- VTi-S 1.7 Both are VTEC and will be able to take a wide variety of terrain. BTW, where do you stay in Mauritius? Port Louis?
