Car pulling left when steering is straight

Dear All,

 

I am recently experiencing my car pulling left while the steering is straight. Anyone know why? Suspecting is the wheel alignment. My car is about 1+ year old and mileage about 25k. Always rotate at 10k and on 205/45/16 tyres.

 

If alignment prob, where to fix and what is the price indication?

is the pulling sharp and obvious? if it is, should be alignment. if it's not, maybe due to uneven tyre pressure or the natural sloping of our roads (purposely constructed that way for water flow).

 

alignment in JB heard only RM15...

HI..It cud be wheel alignment...but if the pull to left is not great or counter,it shud be normal because our road are slopin to the left .I hav the same thing wiz my few rides..my new ride is also same,,after aligment or tracking ..

u may try aligning ur front driven wheel jus to hav a peace of mind..but important thing to note is after that , is the car still pulin left?

Mine only happen recently. So dunno can go bang table or not. Anyway lazy to go back to MM and wait. Very slow service.

It is not sharp. Gradual. I have compared on a lot of roads already. I have confirm is not the road prob.

I dun paying for the alignment as I worry the tyre wear will be uneven if alignment out. My tyre cost me almost 175 a piece, not worth to take the risk

You need only to adjust the toe with a side slip tester, simple easy , fast and cheap.

Don't wast your hard earn money on so call computerised wheel alignment unless you experience difficulties in controlling in straight road,corner at high speed or extreme uneven wear of rear tyres.

The labour charges vary from $12 to 18 per adjustment.

Possible problem:

1. Wheel alignment (toe in toe out tinny);

2. Tyre pressure;

3. Balancing (yes, experience it before with Mit lancer, tot is wheel alignment, do a few times still cannot solve, went back C & C, they do a 4 wheels balancing and solve it!).

 

If you tyre is change outside, may check with them 1st before going to MM and ask them to align for you.

Hi,

 

There was some discussion here previously about steering pulling towards the left.

 

You can try going to any wheel alignment shops to check your wheel and steering.

As you are aware, s'pore roads tend to 'slant' towards the left side to allow proper drainage of water to the drains. So there could be a chance that your steering tends to pull to the left.

 

If it's a gentle pull, then should not be any cause for worry...unless when you brake and you feel the car pulling to either side.

 

usually wheel alignment should cost around $40 above.

i did talk to MM b4, think they got some specification on this ... @ 80km/h and if the car dun move to the next lane (left or right) within 10s, its consider no problem ...

how about 1st taking a close look on the condition of the tire threads? is it eating up on one side etc? all these can tell you better whether if it's an alignment problem or not.

Definitely wheel alignment. I have the same problem with my Optra a month ago.

 

Starsuto charged me 40 bucks to get it done.
