  3. purely for discussion/general knowledge kindly avoid input that's magnet to padlock&key You as a straight husband/boyfriend, what will be your reaction when presented with an opportunity to experiment what the homo hype is about (irresistible cute guy included)?
  4. Isn't this a form of discrimination towards straight applicants? There are people who turned Hong Lim Park upside down because employers prefer certain race only or certain foreign nationalities only; let's see who is going to Cry father Cry Mother over this new form of discrimination. Is there a need to differentiate sexual orientation? http://mypaper.sg/top-stories/wanted-goldman-sachs-lgbt-employees-20140430 Wanted by Goldman Sachs: LGBT employees SAMANTHA BOH IN WHAT could be a first here, renowned investment bank Goldman Sachs has made a specific recruitment call to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students. Next month, it will hold an LGBT recruitment and networking dinner at its Singapore office, where attendees would be able to "discuss issues and concerns regarding being 'out' in the workplace with participants". An event listing on the company's website also made reference to its support of the Pink Dot event that is to take place in June. Goldman Sachs has been firm on being inclusive, regardless of gender, race or sexual orientation, boasting a list of employee networks such as The Disability Interest Forum, The Goldman Sachs Women's Network and LGBT Network. Human resource experts told My Paper that given the labour crunch, companies should be mindful about closing doors on any specific group of people. Erman Tan, president of the Singapore Human Resources Institute, said: "It is good for employer branding as it shows that they are open and unconventional in their approach. "It can appear very attractive, especially to the younger generation." Such a move would also send a strong signal to the rest of the LGBT community that it is an organisation that does not discriminate against any type of talent, said Linda Teo, country manager of Manpower Staffing Services (Singapore). "As companies strive to be globalised and be competitive in their own industry, it is imperative to have a good diversity of talent for their workplace, regardless of gender, sexuality or race," she said. Companies here are becoming more accepting of LGBT employees, but multinational companies clearly take the lead in this. Many Asian or local firms remain conservative, said experts. Ms Teo said it might just be a case of being "unsure of what to expect or how to manage their interactions with co-workers", which can be resolved with open communication or adjustments in work processes, when necessary. But there are those who choose to just not shine the spotlight on the issue. Ronald Lee, managing director of PrimeStaff Management Services, said companies evaluate any application based on an individual's competencies. "They don't ask personal questions like one's sexual orientation," he said. Mr Tan said: "Some companies have the policy not to talk about it but once you declare it to them, they become unfavourable towards you." Jean Chong, co-founder of lesbian group Sayoni, said: "Singapore is very backward in this aspect, so it is good that major financial institutions are taking the lead. "But the world is changing and, sooner or later, this will no longer be a big deal."
  5. Straight-six engines are a BMW hallmark, but their rivals in Stuttgart could be preparing to adopt the acclaimed engine configuration. Citing a "friendly Mercedes engineer," CAR is reporting the company has approved a new engine family that will be launched in 2015. Details are limited, but the source said there will be a variety of new four-cylinders, inline-sixes (available in both single and twin-turbo guise) and downsized V8s displacing 4.0-liters. 6. Want to go on to the seaside road onto Abu Bakar and then Jalan Skudai. I guess, the minute you get pass the custom, you get to a down ramp. If you don't go down there, you'll come to a place where you can go left or right. Right leads to Ibrahim Sultan (where going along that road will lead you to New Hong Kong, Foon Yew High and, eventually, The Zon). Going left will lead you to the gas station..... I always go to the junction, never went down the ramp before. I think it says "To City" or something similar. That will lead me to where I want to go?
  7. The five-cylinder engine's advantage over a comparable four-cylinder engine is best understood by considering power strokes and their frequency. A four-stroke cycle engine fires its cylinders once every 720 degrees
  8. Was parked along outram road just now to tapao some dinner, got my food and drove straight off. After driving for about a car length, a lorry came from my left suddenly cut into my lane and hit the front left portion of my car. Car damaged from left door edge all across the left fender and bumper chui. By the time lorry stopped it was in a 45 DEG position across my car (infront). Lorry driver claims it my fault as i move off from stationary without looking, he said i should have given way to him. Thing is i was already moving at 15-20kmh when he collided into me, more like he didnt bother checking blind spot. I took full photos of all positions and damages. I also took photo of where i stopped and where the point of impact was. I have a witness who can confirm that the positon of my car after the accident is more then 1 car length away from where i stopped. He saw where i stopped my car but didnt manage to see the accident. Kinda worried now the lorry driver will roti prata, what do u guys think?? My fault???
  9. Any bro can advise or gif diff gain for the hi-flow and straight thru for manual car (vios). option 1 ) change hi-flow cat option 2) straight thru whole mid-pipe to 2 inch. currently using 4-1 extractor. which is better?
  10. any place to go to rectify this problem? any workshop or stamford tyres etc?
  11. I'm not sure whether have this been discuss before.... can't find any thread. For those junction with right turning pocket, and there's a lane cater for right turning as well as go straight, if the straight going light already turn red and green right turning arrow is on, those car who is on this lane go straight, will it trigger the camera? (of course provided opposite direction no car turning left as well, else I dare not imagine the consequences )
  12. I think it is the civil servant pay increase that affect our productivity. These 2 years i had undertaken 2 position for the same pay. No real gain after the increase of salary for them.It just get worse after the investment in banks.Maybe after the increase in ERP and everything, productivity had increase abit for our dear leaders. Don't blame us for the low productivity as we are working very hard but not much pay increment like the civil servants.
  13. Idiot Volvo aunty driver, at left most turning lane, I at 2nd left turning lane. Green light and I proceed to turn left, aunty decided to go straight at the last minute, lucky I stop in time
  14. See liao. This morning kena this TP at the traffic junction where I went straight on a right most lane with right turn arrow. Time to fork out some excuses. brainstorms?
  15. http://www.sun2surf.com/article.cfm?id=18827 KAJANG (Aug 2, 2007): A 20-year-old Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) undergraduate, believed to have been raped, was found strangled in her rented house in Bandar Mahkota Cheras near here early today. The semi-nude body of Tang Lai Meng, who is from Ipoh and a second year diploma in business administration student, was found with her hands bound to her back. An elderly neighbour in his 60s who declined to be named was taking his daily walk on the backlane of the the Jalan Putera 4/1 double-storey house in Section 1 at 11am when he spotted the backdoor grille pried open. Suspecting something amiss, he called the police who arrived within minutes and found the front gate and door ajar. When calls to the occupants went unanswered, they stepped in and found Tang on a bed in the master bedroom. Police said Tang, clad only in a T-shirt, was strangled with a pillow case found coiled round her neck. They also found an exmination result slip which showed Tang was a straight-As student. Investigators suspect the assailant, who is believed to be someone known to the victim, had gained entry into the house by breaking through the rear window and fled through the main door. Ulu Langat OCPD ACP Rosli Mohd Nizam said police are looking for a man, believed to be the victim's boyfriend, and two other housemates. He said police have classified the case as murder and will await a post mortem report from the Serdang Hospital to acertain if the victim was raped. He urged those with information to call Kajang CID at 03-8736 2222. According to a neighbour, M.Meena, 44, who lives opposite Tang's house, the student who had never mingled or spoken to them moved into the house about three months ago. She said a middle-aged man who drove a silver Proton Waja often turned up to fetch the victim from the house. The housewife said there was also a couple whom she had seen putting up in the house but was unsure if they were tenants of the house. The elderly neighbour who called the police said he often saw the middle-aged man spending time in the house but was surprised that he had not turned up throughout the five hours police were at the scene dusting the place for clues with the help of forensics police and tracker dogs.
  16. Hallo everybody! Me got a qns leh, that is my ride tends to move to the left whenever I have a front passenger. So I have to counter this problem by turning my steering wheel slighty to my right. i notice this does not happen when I am alone driving. mine is on steel rim and stock tires. Sometimes my wheels, usually it is the hind left and right, did hit/mount the kerb here and there especially at MSCP. Is this the caused? thanks
  17. here my take on drunk driving , don't waste time , straight to jail . To me it is a delibrate act , you had a choice. you do the crime , you do the time . then you reflect how macho you stupid actions are !!!
  18. Saw this SAE40 at a petrol station. Does anyone use this kind of engine oil nowadays? What are the pros and cons compared to say a 10W40? It's mineral oil though.
  19. It just happened. Why? Thrust-angle? Uneven wear? LSD fault?
  20. Does anyone here have prior experience with dealing such an accident? Basically, Vehicle A (a motorcycle) goes straight at a traffic junction (showing green light). Suddenly, Vehicle B (a car) turns right from the opposite lane (showing green light, but NOT yet the green arrow) and as a result, Vehicle A collides into Vehicle B's front left wheel. Of course, the motorcycle loses out in this situation; the rider gets flung 10 metres like a ragdoll, breaks his leg and gets hospitalised. The driver of Vehicle B stopped, gave some comments and left without a scratch. How do the Traffic Police calculate the % liability for each vehicle in such a case? I've actually read from some other forums' replies that this is usually considered 80% fault of Vehicle B, which means Vehicle A is still considered to be 20% at fault! This sounds pretty unfair to me, because if we're talking about right of way, there's little doubt as to who was at fault. Hoping to hear some constructive replies soon.

  22. @ https://www.fleet.ford.com/FFH/Why5W20Oil05...asp?News=Rental ""5W-20 oil is a thinner oil with lighter viscosity that creates less drag on the crankshaft, pistons and valvetrain. Additionally, the oil pump can pump thinner oil more easily, improving oil circulation. Any increase in fuel economy may not be noticed by the average motorist. Machined internal engine parts are more precise than the parts of 20 years ago. This means that clearances between moving parts are smaller and more exact. Thinner oil such as 5W-20 can flow more freely through the engine while still filling the spaces. Thicker oil is harder to push through the spaces between the parts. This causes the oil pump to work harder, which in turn increases oil pressure while simultaneously decreasing oil volume. A lack of oil volume results in a decrease of lubrication and cooling, which may decrease engine part life. The lighter viscosity of 5W-20 oil flows faster at start-up compared to higher viscosity oils, which helps reduce engine wear in critical areas by lubricating parts faster. Valvetrain components at the top of the engine require immediate lubrication at start-up. Oil additives are not recommended as noted in the owners manual. The American Petroleum Institute (API) certifies that oils such as Motorcraft 5W-20 already contain the necessary additives for friction, detergent, etc... The addition of additives may interfere and react with the additives already present in the certified oil.""
  23. I thought about this over and over again and finally concluded. 1) Exhaust bore shouldn't be too big if low end torque is desired and vice versa. 2) A straight through (keeping diameter unchanged) will improve engine response as the flow is less obstructed. Improved engine response --> better low end 3) Big bore's functions has been well documented and so we won't go through it. Any comments are welcome. I'm here to learn and listen. Please keep in mind that my deductions are based on logical thinking coupled with theories from fluid mechanics. No real world experience here. I can do with input from brothers with experiences.
  24. Estimated cost? no need to be branded.. hope i can do it in msia tmr..
  25. the tread on most effective mod started me thinking. is there one straight forward and/or simple upgrade or mod that you've experianced that had given you a better drive, in terms of better response, smoother ride, better FC, quieter ride etc. i am thinking as fundamental, straight forward as spark plug and ignition cables ( both of which are not conclusive ), engine oil etc. as simple as simply taking out and replacing. appreciate any input. thanks !
