I am having a Latio now and planning to have the 2nd baby. The car seat I'm using is quite big (360 degree turning from Combi). We plan to use the same for the 2nd baby. Currently my first baby is about 15months old. If I need to use 2 of this combi 360 degree turning car seat, I am afraid that my wife may not have enough space to sit in between with 2 car seats installed at the back. I have 2 questions: 1. What's the youngest age for toddler to use a basic toddler seat / booster seat? 2. What is the 5 seater car that has good space to house 2 such car seats yet having enough space at the centre? (besides Edix?) Any other suggestions are welcome! I try not to go beyond 5 seaters categories.....

Beautiful article. Since this was sent to me and Mother's Day is just round the corner, I want to wish all mothers a Happy Mother's Day and Single Friends to treasure your Mother more :) BEING A MOTHER After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said, 'I love you, but I know this other woman loves you and would Love to spend some time with you.' The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my Mother, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie. 'What's wrong, are you well,' she asked? My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news. 'I thought that it would be pleasant to spend some time with you,' I responded 'just the two of us.' She thought about it for a moment, and then said, 'I would like that very much.' That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's. 'I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed,' she said, as she got into the car. 'They can't wait to hear about our meeting.' We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read large print. Half-way through the entrees, I lifted my eyes and saw Mother sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips. 'It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small,' she said. 'Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor,' I responded. During the dinner , we had an agreeable conversation nothing extraordinary but catching up on recent events of each other's life. We talked so much that we missed the movie. As we arrived at her house later, she said, 'I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.' I agreed. 'How was your dinner date?' asked my wife when I got home. 'Very nice, much more so than I could have imagined,' I answered. A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn't have a chance to do anything for her. Sometime later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place Mother and I had dined. An attached note said: 'I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that I could be there; but, nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. 'I love you, son' At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: 'I love YOU' and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve. Nothing in life is more important than your family. Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off till some 'other' time. Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby... somebody doesn't know that once you're a mother, 'normal' is history. Somebody said you can't love the second child as much as you love the first... somebody doesn't have two or more children. Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery....somebody never watched her 'baby' get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten... or on a plane headed for military 'boot camp.' Somebody said a Mother can stop worrying after her child gets married... somebody doesn't know that marriage adds a new son or daughter-in-law to a mother's heartstrings. Somebody said a mother's job is done when her last child leaves home... somebody never had grandchildren. Somebody said your mother knows you love her, so you don't need to tell her... somebody isn't a mother. Pass this along to all the GREAT 'mothers' in your life and to everyone who ever had a mother.

I am trying to comprehend. A brand new is the same price as old car by prorating the brand new depreciation value. Many people discourage from buying new by saying you lose 30% value the moment you step out of the showroom. Ive gone through the listings and made comparisons. It's not the case. Used cars sell up to 95% of brand new car value even if 1 year old with over 10k mileage

Was chatting with a fellow brother and we were arguing about how having turbo will contribute to FC. I was on the camp that having turbo, FC friendliness will only be achieved if the required gear-ratio vs RPM is achieved. He was on the camp that turbo is FC friendly regardless, only the max BHP is the difference at the correct gear-ratio vs RPM. so, just to generate some chit chat. i am bored. share your views.

SINGAPORE — If the nursing homes housing the 5,000 beds the Government wants to add by 2020 are built according to a new model that affords patients more privacy with single and double rooms, it would cost about S$19 million more a year, a study commissioned by two philanthropic foundations has found. This is equivalent to 0.2 per cent of the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) S$11 billion budget for the current financial year, and amounts to each resident paying about S$8 to S$13 more a day from the current daily average cost of S$106.20 per resident. Lien Foundation, which commissioned the study with Khoo Chwee Neo Foundation, shared these figures on Thursday (July 28), with the aim of quantifying the argument for single- and double-bedded nursing homes which feature en suite toilets, communal living and dining areas — a departure from the six- to eight-bed dormitory-style layout that is common here. The foundation has been lobbying for a shift towards nursing homes providing “people-centred” care, an effort that hit a roadblock last year when the MOH said it could not provide subsidies for the proposed Jade Circle home, a joint effort between Peacehaven Nursing Home, the Lien Foundation and Khoo Chwee Neo Foundation. The ministry had said it would not be “financially sustainable” to provide subsidies to patients staying in wards “designed to proxy private or A-class ward configurations”. On Thursday, Lien Foundation chief executive Lee Poh Wah urged the authorities to move away from “archaic” models of nursing care. “The elderly (in Singapore) are stripped of their privacy, dignity and autonomy, and reduced to living a regimen — all in the name of safety and efficiency,” he said. Commenting on the ministry’s decision on Jade Circle, Mr Lee, stressing that they were not asking for additional subsidies, said: “I am completely baffled. Why were we penalised for wanting to care for the poor, for delivering care that far exceeded MOH’s standards?” The additional 5,000 nursing-home beds that the Government aims to build by 2020 provide an opportunity for a new model of care to be introduced, he added. The study, conducted by strategy consultancy Oliver Wyman, sought opinions from geriatricians, nursing-home practitioners, and architects. The cost estimates are based on hypothetical nursing homes with 20 per cent single rooms and 80 per cent double rooms. Homes with only single rooms will cost about 36.8 per cent more, according to the study. Besides infrastructural changes, the model would see a dedicated Senior Care Associate tending to each “household” of up to 10 residents. The associate will engage the residents on daily activities and will be supported by roving teams who provide clinical and nursing support. At the Salvation Army Peacehaven Nursing Home, 56 residents with dementia are currently housed in such a living community, where they are encouraged to make their own decisions, such as choosing activities they wish to take part in. Residents have shown a 30 per cent increase in well-being since moving into the facility in 2006, based on a profiling assessment, said the home’s executive director Low Mui Lang. The study noted that in countries with ageing populations, such as Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, single and double rooms in homes are already the norm. For instance, residents at the Green House Project in the US live in cottages with private rooms and baths. Those who are able help with food preparation and eat in a communal setting. Unlike the regimented meals in nursing homes, Green House residents are free to choose when to eat. In response to the study, the MOH, which received the report on Wednesday night, said it hopes to discuss the findings with Lien Foundation and understand the assumptions behind the economic analysis. Commenting on the Jade Circle episode, the MOH said it had made various offers to Peacehaven, such as providing financial support if part of the new facility could be converted into four-bedded wards. “Our offers still stand and we look forward to engaging Lien Foundation on experimenting with new models of care for our seniors,” said the MOH. It also pointed to ongoing efforts to try new models, such as the Ang Mo Kio Build-Own-Lease Nursing Home to be operated by Ren Ci, which will have a “cluster concept” of four beds in each room, sharing a common living area. In Financial Year (FY)15, the MOH’s investment in the nursing home sector was estimated at more than S$360 million, including manpower funding and capital investments. In comparison, expenditure in FY11 was around S$100 million, the ministry said. http://m.todayonline.com/singapore/costs-would-rise-least-s8-day-new-nursing-homes-study

After working for more than a decade, I have never believe in having real friends especially in the workplace. I have seen too many cases of back stabbing when it comes to guarding one's own ass at the critical moment. Call me pessimistic but keeping myself away from all these useless politics is how I manage to survive throughout my career. Have anybody been lucky enough to really have a friend in the workplace?

Let's say someone has been to jail before. Will there really be a visible record on his IC to distingush him from other people? Will companies actually know they are employing someone with a record if the person never declare so? I guess the civil service might have you blacklisted but private companies should be none the wiser right? The only tell tale sign would probably be an awkward gap in employment history? Similiarly, what about people who declare gay during NS? Do they actually have a "record"? What's there to stop kengsters from declaring gay now only to be "cured" some years down the road?

we went to collect our new continental car from the collection centre but found 2 issues whilst checking it. 1. HID headlights will fog up on the inside of the lens. AD did a 1 for 1 replacement but the problem is not solved. 2. built-in GPS cant locate some addresses which have been ard for 4 years AD claims that GPS will never have 100 percent map coverage AD was not able to rectify the issues any further thus we had to take delivery of the car. Is fogging inside the headlight a normal occurence or a design flaw from factory? Has anyone had trouble with their GPS locating address that are not new?
