Feb 21, 2011 Oral sex linked to cancer risk WASHINGTON - US SCIENTISTS said on Sunday there is strong evidence linking oral sex to cancer, and urged more study of how human papillomaviruses may be to blame for a rise in oral cancer among white men. In the United States, oral cancer due to HPV infection is now more common than oral cancer from tobacco use, which remains the leading cause of such cancers in the rest of the world. Researchers have found a 225-per cent increase in oral cancer cases in the United States from 1974 to 2007, mainly among white men, said Maura Gillison of Ohio State University. 'When you compare people who have an oral infection or not... the single greatest factor is the number of partners on whom the person has performed oral sex,' said Ms Gillison, who has been researching HPV and cancer for 15 years. 'When the number of partners increases, the risk increases,' she told reporters at the American Association for the Advancement of Science meeting in Washington. Previous studies have suggested that people who have performed oral sex on six or more partners over a lifetime face an eight-fold higher risk of acquiring HPV-related head or neck cancer than those with fewer than six partners, she said. But even though the link between HPV and cervical cancer has been well known for many years, and vaccines now exist to provide some protection, much study remains to be done to confirm observational links and establish causes, Ms Gillison said. A group of Primary Six students were left waiting in the rain just before their PSLE oral examinations on Aug 20, leaving at least one parent fuming. They were locked out of school and according to a contributor to STOMP, the security guard refused to let them in even though it was raining heavily. The contributor, Teow, described the incident in an email: "My daughter is a pupil of Boon Lay Garden Primary School, who is sitting for her PSLE oral examination this morning. "She was told to report to the school before 9.30am to sit for her exam. As my wife and I had to go to work, I arranged for my brother-in-law to send her to school this morning. "Since my daughter told us that they had to wait outside the gate until their allocated time, I thought the school will make alternative arrangements as it is was raining quite heavily. "But when my brother-in-law reached there around 9am with my daughter, he was surprised to see that there were a lot of PSLE pupils waiting outside the gate in the rain. "He spoke to the school's security officer to let the pupils into the school and wait at the covered link-way since it is was raining so heavily.

Cathay Pacific Airways has launched a full investigation after photos of a flight attendant giving oral sex to a pilot was found. The photos show a woman in a red outfit and sexy lingerie doing some naughty things in a commercial airplane cockpit with one of the pilots. In one of the photos, she reveals her backside (possibly no underwear) in one of the co-pilot chairs. In another photo, she performs oral sex on the male pilot. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said police were looking for her following two reports lodged recently in Ampang and Petaling Jaya. "We are investigating the case under Section 377A of the Penal Code for carnal intercourse against the order of nature as the two people who lodged the reports claimed that there was oral sex in the DVD. "We hope she will come forward and assist in investigations so that we can wrap up the case," he said. Dr Chua, who admitted to being the one featured in the sex video clip, resigned from all party and government posts on Jan 2 last year, following the revelation and circulation of the DVD. He has since made a return to politics and became the MCA deputy president. It is learnt that the woman is currently in a neighbouring country and police are now interviewing witnesses in connection with the case. Musa said that besides Section 377A, police were also investigating the matter under Section 292 of the Penal Code for possession and distribution of the video clip.
