If anyone is curious KM has priority servicing for cars at certain intervals. Basically service your car in 1 hour for a fee. That fee is $10.

Versus my last servicing which took 3-4 hours, it's a pretty small price to pay to get back 3 or 4 hours of your time.

Hi bros and sis!! New driver/buyer here.
Looking to get a second hand driver with < 3years to practice driving first.
Looking at fit/jazz vs toyota vios vs suzuki swift/ suzuki sx4 hb.
Looking at bang for buck (no need to be cheap for the sake of it) + safety + reliability + low fc.
Any lobang?? Which to get?

Any recommendations on what kinda car accessories or protection to buy for new car?

first time car owner here with a new Honda Fit hybrid coming out this week. =D

nothing to buy, maybe upgrade to carplay HU if you don't have it installed by dealer. rest. maybe when you take ownership of the car, you can figure it out.  but beware, customization is quite poisonous

For serving the free 3 years servicing by Kah how does it work.

I know It's 6 months or every 10K. But  what if mileage is low,  how does Kah determine when to do major servicing?  Still at 40K ? or  at 2 years mark?

I believe its 2 year mark.  For AD.  Cos from experience with  KMC, not KM, it's based on a schedule.

If you go for outside workshop its then up to you.  Can do major servicing ever half a year also if you got cash to burn.

Major can do at every 40K

But change brake fluid if it becomes dark or you feel the brakes are more spongy

Hi guys

Need some advise from the lao jiaos.

I'm in the process of buying a COE 2009 Honda civic 2.0 (FD2A) from one of the 2nd hand dealers around UBI area which has been renewed for 5 years  until 2024. Under the agreement i signed with the dealer, i am pending for inspection results  from AAS before proceeding with the remainder of the down payment plus loan. Currently have only placed deposit first. However I have called up AAS and they have no slots until the end of the year or possible early next year. I have asked them to call me if there are pple who have cancelled their slot this week or next week so that i can ask the dealer to send the car to AAS for inspection

As i am trading in my soon to be scrapped car ( 2010 Ford focus  with the COE expiring on 3 Jan 2020) to offset some of the purchase price, my options are limited if i cant get a slot at AAS before the end of this year.

I am in a dilemma if i were to forego AAS inspection if i cant get a slot by end of this week or next week and go ahead with the deal.

The dealership has offered 6th months warranty on engine/gearbox and aircon compressor as well as free engine and gearbox servicing before hand over of the car in black and white on the signed agreement.

The interior of the car has been done up by the dealer and mileage seems low ( less than 100K km).  Just wanted AAS inspection for piece of mind.

Any advise?

Thanks

you can always pay and send it to STA. since AA doesnt have slot why limit yourself to just AA? alternatively,  if you know of a reliable workshop, send it there to let your trusted mechanic inspect for you with a small fee. I am sure there are other choices besides AA. STA is also another centre which provide you with report. As for normal workshop, i dont think they provide you with a proper report.

Good luck in your purchase.

How many owner Honda Civic? Mileage below 100k for a 10 year old car is a red flag. 6 months lemon law also cover major parts. Servicing cincai also can be less than $100

Btw, coe now very low. But a renew Coe car tou have to pay higher interest rate + every year road tax increase 10%. For your Civic 2.0, road tax is $1800 on the 5th year.

Think about it.

Hi i have arranged for inspection at another workshop already earlier today. Everything seems fine, no oil leaks or water leaks. No major issues detected. Dealer had touched up the car before putting up for sale apparently.

Dealer has arranged for loan which was approved within the same day( im kind of surprised how fast the approval came) already and  will be handing over to me the car tomorrow afternoon.

Hi, its a one owner civic which i saw in the one motoring portal.

I am aware about the higher interest rate plus extra road tax and am prepared to deal with it.

Due to my   limited budget of less than 40K SGD, was considering a COE kia koup at first  but then saw that for this pricing got COE honda civics available so in the end went for the civic which is more practical and comfortable.  First time getting a more "powerful" car compared to my previous 2010 ford focus which is extremely slow in acceleration and has poor fuel consumption.

I really hope you are not purchasing the below 2009 Honda Civic 2.0 (Renew COE to 2024) 1 post with 1 owners, another with 3 owners. Mileage 81,000km & 90,000km respectively. If its a 3 owner car, i'm pretty sure the mileage has been tweaked if its the same car, despite the different registration date.

Hi im purchasing the one with one owner, they are 2 different cars.

the one im looking at is PI car ( one owner) with 16 inch wheels, The one with 3 owners is the agent car with larger 18 inch wheels.

I have looked at the following provided by the dealer and seems to be legit one owner car.

Thats one issue solved. The next, and probably the most important issue will be the mileage. If the mileage is genuine that you're good to go.

For mileage i tried asking the workshop if they could tell if there has been tampering but they are not able to tell me for sure.. Based on the condition of the car after inspection with no leaks im guessing its probably be less than 100K mileage.
