Freezy 1st Gear December 24, 2004 Author Share December 24, 2004 gf dad is comtemplating 2.3l cefiro... but is worrying of high FC (what worst if higher than current FC)
Vooth 2nd Gear December 24, 2004 Share December 24, 2004 I believe the 2.3l is more fuel efficient than the previous generation..afterall, it did top its category in the recently concluded Shell challenge... but again dependant on the driver's right foot.... Aspri Clutched December 24, 2004 Share December 24, 2004 I would personally go for the Cefiro and preferably the 2.3 V6. The FC would not be fantastic due to the V6 but I think it looks better fitted together. Moreover, the looks are refreshing compared to the Thai-made Camry. Honestly, the Camry doesn't even catch my eye whereas I still find myself admiring the Cefiro. BTW, ever consider the Accord or Legacy as well? Mzrmazda3 6th Gear December 24, 2004 Share December 24, 2004 Get the 2.3L Cefiro . Heard from reviews that it is better than the 2L one but the final choice is still your gf's father's. For Camry, the 'WHEELS' magazine has just done a review on it (Comparing the 2.4L VS 2.0L). Seems like the 'WHEELS' magazine favour more on the 2.0L Camry as to the 2.4L one. Vamp Neutral Newbie December 24, 2004 Share December 24, 2004 Camry... although it is made in Thailand. Alternatively, can ask him to try Skoda Superb, Volvo S60 (ie. the pay S40 price get S60 deal, if it is still on) or Subaru Legacy. Think these 3 cars are equal, if not better than the Camry and Cefiro.

Slinky Neutral Newbie December 25, 2004 Share December 25, 2004 gf dad is comtemplating 2.3l cefiro... but is worrying of high FC (what worst if higher than current FC) Toyota is well known to make engines with excellent FC if that's your worry. The new camry, although made in Thailand, is still a very good car.
Lala81 Hypersonic December 25, 2004 Share December 25, 2004 actually i wld go for KM accord. its 98.5k according to my fren rite now after the latest COE. the more i drive my family car, the more i like it! it looks better than both the camry n cefiro not a v6 so prob not as smooth as cefiro but cefiro has sluggish pickup. the ivtec gives a pretty gd power distribution n the camry 2.0L is approx same price as the honda so its definitely better pickup. interior space i've never sat in camry or cefiro but its prob roughly comparable FC? lousier than camry cos its a 2.4L but better than cefiro's v6 looking for something more compact, also honda JDM accord though if its a straight comparison, i like the camry more than the cefiro. It looks not too great but the cefiro looks like a moving box. better FC. I've sat in the cefiro's driver seat b4 ... dun really like the dashboard layout
Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear December 25, 2004 Share December 25, 2004 Definitely the Cefiro V6 2.3 over the Camry. The interior of the Camry is so Blah. I can't stand the red hued shiny Ah Pek faux wood trim. The neat matte Zen inspired dash of the Cefiro is much much better in taste. The V6 2.3 is also a much better performer and relatively good FC compared to the previous Cefiro 2.0 V6 (I drove that one for 3 yrs).
Burpmonster Neutral Newbie December 25, 2004 Share December 25, 2004 My gf father is changing his current nissan cefiro. He has not much complains about the ride except for the high FC. He has two choices:either the new cefiro or camry. Which one is a better choice? Hey there, my father have just changed his ride from the Honda Accord 2.0 to the New Nissan Cefiro 2.3 V6. Till today, he has not regretted his decision made both by me and him. We have tested-drive both the Toyota Camry 2.4 and Cefiro b4 he made his choice. As for your FC's worry can be forgotten as my dad's cefiro is giving a good mileage of 10km/L to 10.5km/L average..........But if you want to compare about the interior of these two cars........I will definately go for Cefiro.....It has a very modern Euro design and very lasting in looks.....Unlike the Camry which we PERSONALLY feel that the design is dated and not classy enough..........To be frank, there is only one negative thing abt Cefiro is the pickup speed is abit slower than the Camry....But it sure has one of the quietest engine around in its class.....I am very sure that your dad will surely fall in love with Cefiro comparing the design and interior.........ALL the comments made are just my father's comments and mine too........Cheers!
