Fuzzylogic 2nd Gear January 10, 2005 Share January 10, 2005 Apparently the guys who sell the gadget can even do a demo for you at their office. But cutting the 12v rail to the individual distributor coils is kinda risky i think.
Slowpoke156 Neutral Newbie January 10, 2005 Share January 10, 2005 (edited) I see it as a product whose company does not dare list it's own address or contact person on its website, full of grammatical errors in the website and the product looks like a simple high capacitance discharge (CD) ignition "booster" which may work well under low power conditions. As with all ignition sets, I question this particular unit's build quality, lifespan of internal components, ability to discharge continuously under high loads without misfiring and EMI/EMC shielding. My advice, get a proper ignition system, MSD, Mallory or otherwise. From experience, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Edit: After reading through the installation instructions, I realised that it is not even a real capacitance discharge ignition system. It's simply a 12V buffer (or capacitor if you like) to prevent voltage swings from affecting the ignition voltage. Put simply, it would be no different from you adding a 1F capacitor across your battery terminals and cleaning up your wire contacts. Apollo 1st Gear July 4, 2005 Share July 4, 2005 no need lah, i hv one made in taiwan also. but this is no different fr having a performance coil which produce more & hot sparks. used one on my daewoo before, not a good thing. engine power increase, fc also up. not sure if gasket leak was attributed to this.
