Besides the weird shape of the sedan, I think the rest is quite nice.

 

Somehow I am crazy for aerodynamically looking cars. I like the Peugoet 407...look very sleek with the sharp pointed front.

to tell u the truth, the corolla g9 looks also grew a bit on me although i still find it ugly. its like when i first saw it, it was FUGLY.

look can grow on u...it has to be after u pump in so much $$$...

 

ugly is an understatement but Latio has it uses...it helps to make other car on the road much nicer and more ppl can appreciate their own car now...

at least honda city can now be off the bottom of the look department...

yes i hv - when i test drove the 350Z ... even sat inside one...look kinda comfy inside...i was referring to this thread which started off with some really supportive comments and slowly the negative ones just kept coming

 

i think it looks ugly too but i din have the heart to post my opinion at that time

1. I doubt Latio can be a Corolla killer. IMHO, Sunny looks better than Latio on the outside. Latio fares better in interior though. Latio has such a tall and narrow backside. Why would TC bother to sell them at such a high price? If it prices slightly more than Sunny, it wlll surely be corolla killer. Afterall, people who buy Sunny are mainly concern about budget.

 

2. Well, it is still good to see new "faces" on the road and we're seeing BM clinching number 1 sales spot for a even longer time. May be Hyundai can catch up with its Sonata and cheap line-ups.

well i do agree with you.

 

during 2001-2002, it was said BM earn very little for every unit of corolla sold. the reason is simple. having the dubious honour of being the only distributor of Toyota in the world to chalk up less sales than another jap car (read TC in singapore) distributor, they are very eager to wrestle the title of the top jap car seller in singapore from TC.

 

that said, it was very good deal then to get the corolla over the sunny. but once they have achieved that, especially singaporeans are conditioned to believe toyota offers them best value, then they switch to selling thai made ones.........cost much lesser, but with singaporeans used to the idea that toyota offers great value, the advantage is unassailable.

 

If TC intends for Latio to take back the mantle of the best sellign car in singapore, they will have to adopt similar tactics. otherwise, i am very sure they will languish behind BM.

 

as for hyundai, its completely a different ball game. they are targetting the buget conscious while altis targets the value seekers.
