walk in retail customer, buying one piece

you make people check catalogue, check part number, check price, check stock, climb up climb down to dig out one piece, print invoice etc

I dare not to bargain

when shops entertain and sell to people like me

I already feel grateful 😅

but got torque wrench better than no torque wrench

you go back 20 years ago, tao chiu will laugh at you when you mention torque wrench 😁

last time when I drive Hyundai Getz

the tyre shop tao chiu trigger happy with his impact wrench until the rear brake drum distorted

it felt like a warp disc whenever I apply brake after that

I agak agak he put 300Nm to the wheel nuts

can't pull the drum from the hub anymore, got to use hammer to knock it out

I clear the brake dust in the drum every 10,000km when I do tyre rotation

normally, I can remove the drum easily by hand

pic from internet, not my car

last time my BMW motorcycle (bought used) wheel bolts also over-torqued

it was stretched until a bit like coke bottle

example from internet

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSZBVfLisLwrgQMlGDypDl

mine not so serious, notice the grease residual on the threads applied by tao chiu?

the grease will cause the bolt to get over-tighten as it reduces friction, even though you use a torque wrench set to the correct torque spec

I replaced it with new wheel bolts from PML
