Josephtan1234 Neutral Newbie April 8, 2005 Share April 8, 2005 when i drive straight on the E-way, i 'let go' of my steering, and confirm my car slowly drift to the left... does this happen to cars that changes their rims??? Logically, it should not. Hope they gave you a good price that can cover your alignment.
Pisces69 6th Gear April 8, 2005 Share April 8, 2005 btw, after i changed my rim, while driving, i found that my steering off alignment to the left abit leh... call up the shop and they say change rim is like that one, will off align abit, thus advise me to go to workshop to get it realigned back... (cost $30 for realignment) is it true???[/reply] Don't really know how far this is true but it's the first time I heard of it. Changing rims sud not affect the alignment if the offset is same or close to the original which it sud b. Since it's already done & your car is new, just spend another $60 to get a computerised 4 wheel alignment to confirm if everything is all right. The shop will b able to advise u if something is not right.
Hihi Neutral Newbie April 8, 2005 Author Share April 8, 2005 anyone knows how much Stamford Tyres is charging for wheel alignments?
Pisces69 6th Gear April 8, 2005 Share April 8, 2005 Sud b around that price but I don't use ST anymore. I tried them once but found their service very impersonal & the steering wheel was crooked after they did the alignment. Had to go back & tell them to adjust it but was done in a rush & still slightly out even then. I now use a shop in woodlands where the boss gives very personal service & explains everything in detail to me. I can ask him questions & get sensible answers not like ST. Pisces69 6th Gear April 8, 2005 Share April 8, 2005 Shop is creative trdg at 38 woodlands indl pk "E", #02-06. Multi storey bldg just b4 markool. See Jimmy the boss. Costs $60 but try to bargain for $50. Tell him other shops charge this much also. Maybe he can also advise u on your rims & tires but don't buy his Maxxis tires which he tries very hard to sell to everyone.

Nitrous Neutral Newbie April 8, 2005 Share April 8, 2005 how badly does it drifts? slight or very extreme. b4 u spend the money on alignment, check the tyre pressure of all the tyres first. and do tt test on a real even road. if its very slight, no worries, coz almost all roads are aligned slightly to one side...to allow rain water to drain off. unless its pulling badly to one side, then u have a aligment problem.
