i think maybe he is referring to the dashboard area....the white plastic might be wacky and fun to some but turn off to others.

 

Mine's got an all black interior, and a sunroof too!

 

I was pretty shocked by the 2 tone interior when I first saw it

I had leather seats thrown in the package and chose beige leather so that the colours match. Great thing is that all the inner doors get a leather covering too so it blends in with the dashboard

My coursin used to own a fiat regata.Should be regata if i remember

correctly but for sure is a fiat.

He bought a new car in mid of 1980.

During the three yrs of ownership the car keep on breaking down until

he give up.

But that happens in more that 15yrs ago.

Now fiat engineering should be improve by now.

Unfortunately yes... was considering if I should just replace the alternator, compressor and some sensors but since the costs were high, parts rare and the prices of cars were relatively cheap that time (COE at 16k+), decided it was more sensible to trade-in for a new car.

 

Was going to get a cheap manual Korean car this time, went to test drive Chevrolet, Hyundai and Kia. After seeing that I was not comfortable in any, my friend suggested I try Fiat.

 

Was recommended the HGT as it was a manual but the sports suspension was too stiff for me. Made a compromise and tried the semi-automatic Punto. The feeling was the same as driving my old Fabia (Even looks alike! One of my colleagues thought I just repainted my car )

Beige leather is cool, my wife and I wanted to opt for beige leather too, but the car already had black leather fitted Well....no complains really....other than the fact that I keep losing things in the car cos everything in the interior is BLACK!

Yeah, Fiat has improved a lot. It's not the rust bucket it used to be, especially in the late 70's and 80's. My previous Punto(Mk 1) didn't give me any problems other than the usual wear and tear.

Is this price included COE? I saw on the Petrolwatch website, it quotes $67,800.

considering that the performance of this 1.2l car outperforms most jap 1.6l cars, pay less rd tax, cheaper insurance, and great FC, hmmm maybe it really isnt too badly priced...

 

and it should be ard 50+k with COE

The price is around 55~57k now due to the recen hike in coe price.The price they quote comes with guarantee coe.

 

This 1.2~1.3l is marvellous.You need to test drive it to feel the diff.The equipment level itself will put some if not all of the jap/korean car feel so bare.

 

It's IMO value for money.

They have promotion for Punto at $57k. Very tempting but also looking around... but still that littel niggling scratching feeling over 'Italian reliability'. No offense to current Punto owners, I can see why you guys were swept off your feet by this red-hot Italian beauty. I am too!

 

Specs are impressive: 6-speed CVT with quoted 17km/l fuel efficiency. Multi-function trip computers showing consumption, fuel left etc... Very wel specc'ed. But reservations....
