I used to use a Duckhams semi-synthetic lube oil when I drove an old Mazda 626. Used to get the lube from a parts shop from Alexandria village - less than $30 for 4-litres. Tried Castrol also - but not as smooth.

Hi.wave.gif

Since you're driving an old car (me too, also carburated engine), advisable to stick to mineral oil. For me, I'm using Mobil Delvac MX 15W40, recommended by one of the engine oil expert here.sly.gif This oil costs around $38 for 5 litres, and have great cleaning power. This viscosity is also suitable for the older engine.nod.gif

As for spark plug, I'm using Denso brand (normal type) and it costs me $2 each.

Is yours a manual car? If no power even at that kind of rpm, perhaps your clutch plate had worn out?sweatdrop.gif

Its available in most Mobil Petrol Kiosk.

As for checking clutch, place your car on a level ground and engage your handbrake. Then shift to 3rd gears and try to move off as per normal. If engine stalls then probably clutch plate still OK. wink.gif

Is your 323 1979 or 1981 model?

I think your car must have quite a high mileage done on it now? If that's so and you have been on mineral, i think it will be better off sticking to mineral oil. Because if you switch to fully synthetic, your engine seals may leak engine oil after sometime.

As for the spark plugs, you can get those from Denso (W16 series) will do. Remember to get those bigger size plugs as the smaller size ones are for the newer cars.

eh tink itz 1982 model?? coz the car is registered in 1982..haha yea the mileage haf already exceed the number of slots in the speedo...it went to 9999999 den back to 0000000 den so on and so fort...as for engine oil we didn't knoe wad engine oil the previous owner used...so when my parents send the car for servicing at our regular mech he just use the brand he has in his work shop which is castrol but i neva notice wad grade..and for now sometimes the engine oil will leak from the top...i tink it might be the cap lose....haiz..old cars alot of problem...
