Wormee 5th Gear December 15, 2015 Share December 15, 2015 (edited) Juz had my car checked today , discovered tat the weird rustling sound came from the engine pulley. Rectified after changing it But along came the replacement of the linkage, engine mounts , general servicing n replacement of some steering parts . Heartache but $ well spent . N i do quote tat i wun be going back to the workshop tat my dealer had recommended. They didnt even discover all those faults during their service n were only discovered when i went to another workshop. Yes money well spent as long as problem is detected and solved. My case similar, I stopped going to the workshop tied up with the PI after my warranty as I didn't like their service. They only suck up to Merc and bigger cars when I went for servicing. The workshop are mostly doing big cars and we are small fry to them. They used CVT-F on our car instead of HMMF recommended on the manual. I had once with a 'D' light blinking issue, sent it for servicing and report came back 'car checked with no 'D' light issue'. They reset the fault without rectifying the problem. Luckily I have friend who recommended me to a reliable workshop and serviced my car, downloaded the fault code on a proper machine and rectified my problem. It is always a hunting game for us to find a good and reliable workshop for a PI car. Edited December 15, 2015 by Wormee ↡ Advertisement

Hi bro, sorry for the late reply. 'D' light blink is probably transmission problem. Can be alot of causes. If u have a OBDII reader can download the fault code. Do the basic first la. Have u changed your plugs? Do a thorough throttle body cleaning (dismantle and clean and not just spraying degreaser into the throttle body). If u want can try changing the CVT Control Block. The relays may have died or faulty. Changing the gearbox should be the last resort. How old is ur airwave? Pre of Post FL model? Post FL are more likely to have the batch problem. Wormee 5th Gear May 3, 2016 Share May 3, 2016 My car will vibrate when in idle n in gear n upon moving off , any idea wat happened ? Any gd workshops to recommend ? Someone told me bar body need replace , wats tat ah ? Btw , the cause of uneven tyre wear for my car was due to alignment out , so did my alignment n a change of a set new tyres at JB . Hope the uneven wear problem is solved . Maybe they are referring to 'valve body'...? Do the basic cleaning first. After that check spark plugs. No point jumping into replacing parts which may not be the cause. Vibrate during idle are common problems for auto gearbox. CVTs are much more prone to it. Can try servicing the throttle body by removing it and cleaning it. Make sure the workshop remove it and clean instead of just spraying degreaser into it. By doing so, it will only make it worst. The accumulated dirt will just simply flow down in the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve which is directly mounted below the throttle body. The dirt in the IAC valve will cause the vibrating or jerking during moving off due to not smooth in turning during idle and accelerating. Try look for Azman at Man Garage @ Kai Bukit. He is good in Airwave servicing.
weekiat572 2nd Gear May 3, 2016 Share May 3, 2016 I had the car checked last week , found out the mountings wore unevenly (i juz had them changed in dec 2015). I juz changed the left mounting as it was the worst worn. Had my plugs changed n replaced a small valve part tat was cracked. Even though still got some vibration , its not as bad as previously. Another culprit was the strut bar , apparently it was mounted too high n contributed to the vibrations . Other than tat , no major issue wif my car , juz brought it for a speed run on NSH n survived with going 180kmh for prolonged periods. Totally loved my airwave , too bad left wif 2 yrs nia . Maybe next svc i go Man garage n sort out any more problems.

Amorail Neutral Newbie July 30, 2016 Share July 30, 2016 My 2008 AW jerked while stopping and moving off. Sometimes at traffic light , when I release the brake the car will move slightly and stop till I step on the accelerator. Also I noticed that the rpm is not stable when on 'N' mode or stopping at lights. It will go down to 500++ and move up to 800++ frequently. Any where can solved the problems? Also I noticed that the rpm is not stable when on 'N' mode or stopping at lights. It will go down to 500++ and move up to 800++ frequently. Any where can solved the problems? Bro, do you have any 'D' light blinking issue or just the jerking? It is common for auto cars especially CVTs when they are old. Yours is already 8 years. Mine previously had the rpm not stable similar to you it will drop to 500++ and up to 800+ and fluctuate but is in D mode instead of N. Go to your workshop and do the basics such as cleaning throttle body, check spark plugs and coils for damages. If you are looking for one, can try Man Garage at Autobay. I used to service mine with him until I sold it. He is good in Airwave.
